I love frozen fish. My husband takes his sailing kayak miles offshore (NW FL Gulf Coast) to catch snapper, tuna and mackerel and other species. He also nets mullet. S0 we do get to enjoy immediately caught fish now and again. But other than that, we go to the fish market or the grocery store. Most times it comes down

Our “new” home was built in 1903 and last updated in 1997. The previous owners did a good job remodeling the kitchen to reflect the age of the home while including the necessary modern updates. It’s not my dream kitchen - but it suits the house in terms of design style and genuinely attractive. It’s also well laid

I think he’s fine as a host. Fine. But Guy Fieri isn’t the kind of person I’d want to read an article about. He’s just not that interesting and there’s the feeling that he thinks he’s very interesting. So thanks for the article Cliff Notes!

I can’t abide a slideshow, but is there a Korean potato salad on white bread sandwich on the list? Because I’d eat that sandwich every day and suffer the consequences. That’s why I never buy white bread.

It’s part of being American that you naturally scope out a store or restaurant for exits and hiding spots when you enter just in case of an active shooter. I’m not a paranoid person and the worry over it doesn’t consume me - it’s just a natural reflex at this point.

Raw oysters are my favorite food. I even ate them as a toddler. I generally only crave them in the winter - which is when we ate them when I was a child. (They weren’t that expensive back then.) There’s an oyster farm near where we live and they are really really really good. Small, salty and creamy. The bigger ones I

I’m extremely lucky in that I live directly across the street from a neighborhood grocery store. Man, what luxury! My husband and I just moved here and it isn’t exactly a perfect house, so we still look. Not sure I can give up the grocery store though. It would have to be really really perfect.

Lettuce and cucumbers are what usually get me by going bad. Cabbage (even cut cabbage) and carrots seem to last forever. We eat a lot of coleslaw as a side! In my house, whenever sour cream, yogurt or crema go bad there’s mold on top - probably because those are products where a spoon is introduced. Buttermilk is

Buttermilk will last LONG past its “best by” date. Like two or more months longer and probably longer than that. But even I have a cut off date! I use buttermilk for cornbread and other baked goods, fish/shrimp/oyster fry soak with crystal hot sauce, buttermilk brioche French toast.

My son, his partner and their daughter live in Australia. Son and partner are US citizens on a path to immigration there - he’s from Florida; she’s from New Jersey. Their daughter was born in Oz. As much as we desperately want them to come back home, I understand why they do not want to ever move back permanently.

Ooooooh! I haven’t seen those, or even heard of them. I’ll be on the lookout.

I’m generally fussy about what I feed my dog too. She eats a super premium dog food, gets a supplement and fish oil capsule daily along with appropriate snacks including raw and cooked veggies. I just don’t think giving her a cracked egg is that much of a risk or a week-old boiled egg is that much of a risk.

Honey, her favorite treat is cat shit, when she can find it on a walk. I’ve learned to avoid sandy areas. One time she found a half eaten hamburger that had been there I don’t know how long. Also a dead bird of some sort. I just heard crunching bones right before I could call her off.  I’m not too worried about cracked

Our fence sign does say, “Dog Ain’t Nice.”

Cracked eggs and leftover egg whites are among the top reasons to get a dog. I made avgolemono a couple of days ago. Had three leftover egg whites. Microwave briefly. “Stella Mayo! Come here!” Old eggs, cracked eggs, aging boiled eggs - she don’t care. She also loves the bloodline from mackerel and mullet. I love how

Don’t get too excited about produce. I tend to be entraced with great produce and overload myself all at one time. Then I’m forced to accelerate my meal production to accommodate the produce that’s rapidly deteriorating. And that would be fine if my husband and I weren’t empty nesters. I can occasionally share with

I don’t like dairy much except cheese - never have. I was the weird kid who didn’t like ice cream. So I haven’t felt the need to try lactaid.

I’m 55, so I was thinking, “Yeah, yeah. I’ll look at your penis if you buy me a horse.” Maybe he’d like an exasperated older lady to shrug at his dick and then ask him to include a trailer. I hear some guys are into that.

I can’t drink dairy milk, so I haven’t really enjoyed a milkshake in years. I imagine one made with non-dairy milk would be a welcome option for lactost intolerant.

I don’t eat them often enough to say - although guess what I ate for lunch? After this post, I made hot dogs for lunch. I can’t say I’ve noticed a significant difference over the years. The dogs we had for lunch weren’t mushy or soft, or maybe just slightly softer than a standard cheap dog?
