I’m not from Oklahoma, but my daughter and SIL lived in Ada for a while until they were able to get out! I’d fly to Oklahoma City for visits and we’d stay in Midtown and eat there. I really enjoyed it - maybe because we don’t have anything similar here in NW Florida, and I do think the concept would make for a good

See, I like all the other quick breads much better than banana bread. Cranberry walnut, cinnamon struesel, etc. The only quick breads I make on the regular are a barely sweet dark chocolate bread (with honey butter spread on the side) and lightly sweet candied kumquat and cream cheese bread when our kumquat tree is

I don’t really know anyone who loves bananas. To me, they are either mealy or mushy and tasteless. I think they’re good as a thickener for a smoothie, but I never buy them just to eat by themselves. I like tostones though - plantains.

Can we get Waffle Champion to franchise? They are in Oklahoma City and the concept is PERFECT for a fast-casual expansion.

Hey...I live in Florida. I feel ya. At least where I live there’s a rather substantial liberal population. Not enough to make a political difference, just enough to make living here pretty pleasant. When we moved here, our next porch neighbor was friendly, but after some chit chat, asked, “You’re not a Trumpy are

My dad had a DAD joke - when the server said, “Hi! I’m Ann. I’ll be your server.” My dad would often say, “Hi! I’m Jim. I’ll be the eater.” He had a lot of those types of jokes and I didn’t think I’d miss them...but I do.

My husband’s family has a genetic blood disorder called protein S deficiency. It’s supposedly rare, but then again it’s not a common test, so who knows? My husband, his mother, his two brothers, his three cousins, and our daughter have it. My husband has had three blood clots as have his brothers. Certain types of

Report back!

I love fried pickles, but I never get to eat them because I don’t want a whole damn platter of fried pickles (as they are often served in restaurants). It’s not like you can take them home in a doggie bag - unlike fries, which you can reuse in a myriad of ways. I’d like a small side of fries with two or three fried

If it’s absolutely time to buy new pillows, you can repurpose the filling for your outdoor cushions and pillows or to stuff other decorative pillows. Do you KNOW how much pillow inserts cost?! It’s crazy.

How soon before a Republican president nominates him for the Supreme Court?

But a toaster oven takes up just as much space as a microwave and is slower. If I want to toast something I use my oven’s broiler or my toaster.

I could get by, but I don’t want to. We eat a lot of leftovers, sometimes at staggered times - so without a microwave that would mean dirtying up pans several times a day. The way we do it now is I portion leftovers and we heat them in their containers. Eat out of container. Done.

I hate the whole pack/alpha mentality. Mainly because I’ve seen waaaayyy too many manly Bros take it too far. You do NOT need to be the alpha-bully for your dog to be obedient. My job for my dog is to be a calm and consistent leader and guide for my dog. She needs to trust that I’ve got things under control, that I am

That seems a little (a lot) extreme. I’m heartened to see that on most menus kids meals offer milk or juice and at at least the choice of apple slices. I think a small step would be for fast food companies - not the government - to stop allowing soft drinks to be included as an option with the kids meals.

I would love to try this! I’m always in the lookout for different vegetarian pasta dishes. I tend to stick to a handful I know well, but it would be nice to add a mushroom forward dish in our rotation.

I don’t eat fast food a lot, but it is nice to have the option of vegetarian food at a drive-thru. Like the time I was driving by myself from Florida to Oklahoma and back with my dog! Although Taco Bell (and other fast food) is often high in sodium, I wouldn’t call black beans, tortillas, lettuce, tomato and sour

Unless the couple specifically asks for cash, my standard wedding gift is a Shun knife and a nice cutting board. My BF’s son sends me photos of himself using his knife - he is SO proud of that knife and it’s something he couldn’t justify buying for himself. Another BF’s daughter is getting married soon and they are

For breakfast and lunch, go with the chains. They have the system down and they generally know what they are doing. Panera, Olive Garden, Moe’s, Jim and Nicks (a chain in the South...they catered three funerals in our family).

My girlfriends and I attend a music festival together each year. I have some advice. Unless there are specific acts you want to see at the beginning of the day, eat a large brunch/breakfast BEFORE you go. Then arrive at the festival after the initial opening crush. Because you’ve eaten a large meal right before lunch,
