Where’s the fried cherry pie? And for that matter where’s Taco Bell’s caramel apple empanada? Dammit.

We do not have a Trader Joes. I have seen recipes for dupes  but I haven’t tried one yet.

I’ve been pescatarian now for 22 years, and we eat mainly vegetarian, so meat substitutes really do provide a change up for us. Not usually veggie burgers though. We have a stable of favorites - Morningstar Farms veggie burgers (cut into strips for gyros), Impossible meat for bulgogi, Beyond Meat brats, Field Roast

I regularly buy meat substitutes. They add a variety of possibilities throughout our meals and we eat them about once a week as a change up. But I don’t seek them out at fast food restaurants. I commented in a thread yesterday about wanting the McAaloo Tikki (potato and pea patty with spicy sauce). I might actually

I just want a McAloo Tikki burger. It’s a friggin potato patty on a bun with spicy mayo! What’s so hard about that? Instead they’re probably spending $$$$$ developing a fake meat burger and fake chicken.

Oh wow. You will be sorely missed here, but I wish you success in your future endeavors!

My Daddy knew people from the Dixie Mafia. This guy would have been disappeared...not this year. Just one day. That’s why I never complained to him about any guy who treated me badly.

What’s the emotion beyond “FUCKING FURIOUS”?

Thank you for your service.

I think it’s a fine olive oil for pan searing and such. It’s got a nice mellow flavor and isn’t too expensive. Probably not the best for bread dipping.

Growing up, a meal was a meat and two sides. That’s when I switched our household pescatarian (rectal cancer runs in my husband’s family), it was easier for me to go in ditching that model, just so I wouldn’t default to that mode of thinking. But not everyone wants to do that, or can do that. We have to remember that

I wish it were easier to find a falafel in small or mid-size cities. I love them, and don’t live near any good ones. I make them myself sometimes, but I long for a falafel drive thru!

Ha, I’m freezing the last of our curried lentil soup tonight. You were supremely good, our adorable nutritious lentil soup, but it’s time to go to bed.

I appreciate vegan versions of favorite foods. I’ve found that many foods across cultures are naturally vegan or are easily made so. It’s an easy way to make small changes that can add up to benefit your own health and the environment - even though I still eat dairy, eggs and fish and my husband eats meat outside of

Have you ever eaten chitlins? Oh boy. There’s a reason they aren’t popular in the South anymore. The cleaning process alone is extremely labor intensive. Even after they’re cooked the smell is...something. I imagine there are a few people who really love them, but they were born of scarcity, not taste.

I save most plastic takeout and other usably-sized containers. My husband likes to walk to Waffle House sometimes when he’s up super early, and he usually brings home a round plastic container with half a waffle in it for me. He tries to throw them away, but I keep them. They are perfect for bringing a meal to a

I’ve learned over the years to ALWAYS request my pizza be “well done.” That usually saves the pie from floppy dough.

With some exceptions, I dislike bread with ANY sweetness. The supermaket English muffins have an underlying sweetness and a bit of gumminess I can’t get past. Same with most supermarket bagels.

I’m just glad Snackwells and Tab are off the market.

Even yellowfin in olive oil (not super expensive like the jarred stuff) is a huge step up in terms of flavor. The white tuna in water is chalky.
