Oh wow! This recipe totally speaks to me. I have a pumpkin carving party to attend on Saturday night. We’ve been attending for over 20 years and it’s potluck. I can see beer bread and beyond brats cut into slices and served with good mustard.

I hate Red Lobster and their cut rate quality seafood, but if I see these biscuits I will pick them up! Would be a perfect vessel for the Beyond Meat spicy breakfast sausages.
I get that. I wouldn’t pick up cushions outside of a sketchy house. But this was a million+ waterfront neighborhood. The cushions weren’t wet. The covers were merely dirty. Also if we lived in a rural area I could see the time vs money argument. But our little town library thrift store is less than half a mile down…
Our grocery store used to sell day old bread. Now they do not. Where does it go?
At a restaurant, definitely sushi.
All crab legs are pre-cooked and frozen. When you cook them you’re basically heating them through. So it makes sense to reheat them at home. restaurants are serving the exact same crab legs your grocery store sells.
I do the same with my chile pepper sauce. Boil the guajillo and ancho peppers and then run the pulp through a food mill. I know some people just blitz all of it in a blender, but to me the skins add a bitter note.
It’s important to note that some products need to be canned using a pressure canner and some do not. So be sure to research before you start on a canning journey - alone or with a group.
I was trying to get into “Our Kind of People” but they gave away the goods way too early. I was hoping for a “Revenge” kind of slow burn. Binged “You” season three like a six pack of Pringles cans from Sam’s Club.
As someone who adores a great pretzel with cheese dip and mustard, these still make me grimace. Yikes! Hopefully these will get gone pretty quick.
As a pescatarian, chicken nuggets rank up there with meat products I miss the least, although I’ve tried a few brands and they are all fine replicas for lunchroom offerings. Maybe for people who have young children? Even so, I don’t think I’d want to encourage children to prefer prefab “nuggets” of any sort over real…
Y’all, I have tried to like spaghetti squash, cooked in a variety of ways. I love summer yellow squash and butternut squash. But I do not like spaghetti squash. I don’t like the taste or the texture and I really hate it when someone puts it on a plate with tomato sauce on top and calls it spaghetti. Ugh.
Dots have to be the worst offender. I have very strong, firmly-rooted teeth and when I’ve eaten them I felt like I was about to lose a tooth. On the plus side they taste terrible so why risk it?
If there’s a loose egg in my fridge - it’s a hard boiled egg. The raw eggs stay in the carton.
Tell me about it. When I see the good stuff at Publix, I stock up. My adult daughter is obsessed with it too, so I always pick her up a tub.
Best fries I ever had were in London. Just fries, topped with briney sheep’s milk feta cheese. My daughter and I tasted them and our eyes got wide. WHOA! I finally found a feta that tastes like that feta and now I can’t wait to fry up some “chips.”
Ben Affleck is usually just fine. Like Mark Wahlberg is usually just fine. A List, show-up, spout lines, support a bigger budget than the film might otherwise garner with a lesser (though probably more capable) lead. He’s had some acting moments. But I just tried to watch “Live by Night.” What a slog. I couldn’t…
As a happy palate cleanser, my husband and I travelled to Mobile for the Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit concert and it was amazing. We stayed at a nearby hotel (slept on crisp clean sheets I didn’t have to wash), had a nice meal, and it was super fun to watch my normally very reserved husband in enthusiastic awe of…
I absolutely do not speak (or text) badly about anyone I care about. I hold many secrets that are not mine to tell. Among close friends, we gossip amongst ourselves; sometimes we express concerns about another friend. But I wouldn’t let anything slip that might make others think less of a loved one, even if - or…
I think garbanzo beans are the most versatile - hummus, soups, Indian dishes, roasted, in salads. Black beans are my favorite - soup, tacos, burrito bowls, etc. Cannellinni beans are awesome in winter soups. Kidney beans are best in salads - like a green bean, tomato and kidney bean salad. Lima beans suffer from kind…
