A friend dated a guy who very vocally hated mayonnaise but loved aioli. He was THAT guy. He’s gone now.

The laws vary so widely. Our home is within city limits (very developed) and we are allowed to have chickens within the city limits (not sure of any number limitations). Our yard is small, zoned residential/commercial and our home is located behind a juice shop and hair salon. Outside city limits - no chickens unless

I’m sure you can get the flavor from Impossible with seasonings, but the texture I think would be too crumble burger-like. The MSF patties will maintain their shape after being sliced into strips and look more gyro-like. We don’t eat a whole lot of meat substitutes, but we always have veggie burgers and Gardien

My dad was a banker and he’d often come home with fresh collard, turnip or mustard greens from customers. Oh, and homemade jelly!

But you aren’t selling them. They are free. The donations are optional. Lots of people skirt the law that way.

We are having meatless gyros tonight! I take Morningstart Farms Griller Original burgers, cut them into thin strips, fry them up with Cavender’s and a bunch of black pepper. Flatbread or pita, thin layer of foule or hummus for bottom layer, “meat”, shredded lettuce and diced tomato, feta and tzatziki. Serve with

The eggs are free. Donations accepted. Suggested donation $ per dozen.

I admire people who care about things like this. I honestly do. Me, I just figure the oven (because of the heat) is the most sanitary thing in my home.

I love the idea of using mayonnaise as a base, especially for home cooks on a Wednesday night. Baked salmon, asparagus, quick-step aioli and tomato salad would be a wonderful meal on any night of the week. Not every meal needs to be a dinner party meal.

My husband bought a bunch of bottled water, as if the water supply would somehow cut off? We have amazing tap water. We have also been through various hurricanes and boil water notices. Never have we had a shortage of WATER.

Really? We make jasmine rice weekly because it’s so versatile. We have a rice cooker - Zojiruihi. Make a pot of rice. Thai curry one night. Fried rice two or three days later. Tomato egg rice for breakfast after that. Or use it for a Mexican meal side (spiced) or red beans and rice or jambalya or gumbo. I buy 5 lbs of

Crab dip! Unlike some crab preps no one expects high quality crab in a dip. It’s still yummy though!

Not sure anything can beat Lipton’s onion soup mix and sour cream for a guilty pleasure. Another one I use for homemade sweet potato chips is a sweet-spicy curry powder blend with mayonnaise. Also Yuzo Kosho dressing with mayonnaise for tempura seafood or vegetables. Fried jalapeno corn fritters with tajin and

That looks divine! With the tarragon and lemon, I’m imagining it would be great with baked salmon flaked in at the end too.

Use half sour cream and half mayonnaise. Add the sour cream first, mix and then add just enough mayonnaise to get it to the right consistency - you’ll use less mayonnaise that way.

These are fun ideas, but I think most families don’t have time to make every meal an adventure or experiment. I think a good way to get kids to eat foods that are foreign to them is to start small and pull back: Indian butter chicken (small amounts of Indian spice) with basmati rice. Chicken and rice are familiar, the

As someone who has recently turned somewhat lactose intolerant, I was dismayed to discover Sweet Grass Dairy Green Hill cheese just yesterday. Smooth, creamy camembert type cheese but mellower and with a thin rind. It might have displaced Humbolt Fog as my new favorite cheese. Dammit. I don’t need this right now.

I hate mozzarella sticks. Aged mozzarella is the worst kind of cheese - plasticky and flavorless.

Got my 2nd shot two weeks ago! I’ll still wear a mask and social distance. Other than some mild hypochondria and a VERY sore arm, I had no side effects at all. I live in NW Florida and almost anyone can get the vaccine these days. I got mine with no appointment at a community center. My SIL just walked into Publix and

One of my best friends since middle school has five sisters. She is closer to some than others, but they are not her best friends - her four longtime girlfriends are her best friends!
