It’s not fried. Not seasoned. Before I found this, I used to freeze tofu, thaw and press to make the texture more firm. I’m not sure how the cutlet is made. I keep a block or two in my freezer. Thaw it, cube it, toss it in cornstarch and fry it (or you can air fry it). Because it has little moisture, it doesn’t get

If you can find tofu “cutlets” that they sell in the Asian market, you should try them. They are awesome! And they freeze well with no texture difference.

I recommend Marvin Harris’s book “Good to Eat.” It examines practical reasons for cultural and religious dietary practices.

I HATE tuna in water. It has a chalky texture. It’s yellowfin tuna in oil...or gtfo!

Gotta light?

As a Southerner, I deep fry fairly regularly. I keep a Le Creuset 2.5 quart sauce pan with a skillet lid (that I bought at Goodwill, y’all!!!) on my back burner.

Oh, you know what’s good - one of those hashbrown patties as a vessel for mashed, citrusy avocado.

I love that feeling - in whatever field, you finally feel like you’re no longer flailing or flopping, you can apply the knowledge you’ve learned so far, and the only way is up. It does take a lot of work to get there. Good on ya for sticking it out!

Yikes! I hope she doesn’t have children. No child needs to absorb that trajectory.

Kennedy became a FOX Newsie?! Well, dammit.

I hate sesame seed and everything bagels! Only because they make such a mess and, apparently, my husband’s eyesight isn’t such that he can see birdseed scatter all over the countertop near the toaster. I buy him Asiago cheese or onion bagels. If he goes out he gets the everything. (I cannot eat grocery store bagels.

My husband’s family is from Benton and Delight. He was born in Benton, but grew up along the Gulf Coast of Florida. He’s gone back a few times for family reunions. I’ve been to Benton and Little Rock and Hot Springs. Yeah...don’t really desire to go back, although I’m sure there are interesting things to do there.

Southern US here! But my son is an Australian immigrant in Sydney so I know all about Maca and beetroot and bogans and op shops and blueys and fair dinkum and “how ya goin?”.

Northwestern Arkansas has some beautiful parks in and around the Ozark mountains. Not too impressed with any other areas.

If someone - today - told you that some things you said and did were deeply hurtful to them, how would you feel? What would you say?

Do YOU want to talk to them about their behavior? Will confronting them - even if they don’t admit or “remember” any of it or dismiss it with “I’m sorry you feel that way” - be of benefit to you? Right now you have a door that’s cracked with the potential to be opened. It might be beneficial for you to be able to

Every time I wake up in the middle of the night coughing (sinuses), or hot (menopause), I worry that I have COVID! I also have COVID dreams where I’m in a group of people and then it occurs to me we aren’t wearing masks and that everyone needs to step away from me.

Red Lobster isn’t being done in by disdain (because Red Lobster has always been okay and sometimes really good). It’s being done in by local grocery stores carrying more and more seafood of similar quality for a lower price. Most will steam for you, or offer a seasoned take and bake in a bag or tray.  And you can even

I love Maangchi. Also look into Palin’s Kitchen (for Thai food) and Seonkyoung Longest, and Future Neighbor. I’m also really into - and have always been into Middle Eastern and Mediterranean foods. Refika’s Kitchen presents some Turkish dishes I’d never heard of and want to try.

Lobster and latkes. Fuck the salad you know you need. These are the end of end times.
