The purpose of classifying it as a separate crime is not to somehow magically prevent it from happening.  It’s to make it easier to help the women that it happens to.  Someone who gets hit once in a bar and then never sees the person who hit them again does not need the same support as someone who is in the most

Also, they’re saying the exact opposite thing.  Madonna is saying she needs all 100 people to like her and Lady Gaga is saying she only needs 1.

But it does make a difference; it’s a different crime.

No, this isn’t “technically” domestic violence because the term “domestic violence” has a very specific technical meaning.  It’s not needlessly pedantic to ask that reporters use the term correctly.

I like a good sympathetic backstory for villains, but it’s hard to imagine being able to engender sympathy for the most notorious puppy killer.

It was a standard joke, along the lines of “blame it on the alcohol”

It’s definitely my most common nightmare, but at least I’ve gotten to a point where pretty much every time I’m able to recognize “oh, my teeth are falling out? I must be asleep and this is a nightmare” but I can’t make myself wake up.

I was prepared to defend the fact that spitting teeth is such a common nightmare they could easily have both come up with it, but it’s in between like four other directly identical (but not as well worded!) images.

It reminds me very much of that episode of friends where Joey tried to write a letter about how much he loved Monica and Chandler (I think as a recommendation for adoption agencies?) and he used the “synonym” function on pretty much every word hoping it would make him sound smarter. The word “topography” there is SO

One time I filled out this big questionnaire that my friend posted on facebook and shortly after I found a word document on my computer where I had apparently filled out the same questionnaire years earlier.  It was honestly amazing to read how similar the answers were, down to making the same jokes in a couple of

I liked this video and thought it was very well done, but the inclusion of 13 going on 30 didn’t seem to fit with the rest for me. I liked that movie a lot but it doesn’t seem right here. I feel like Clueless would have been the more obvious choice but I guess they couldn’t really do that since it was used for the

But Jamil’s main point that those things “work” by basically just being laxatives, so how is it a clapback when it pretty much completely supports that?  It definitely seems like missing the point to me.

Yes, that section was nearly empty when I went to the story yesterday!  Luckily I was there for the baby spinach anyway...

Yes, Anna Kendrick is absolutely a bigger star than Kristen Stewart.

I cried at the teaser for the recent Christopher Robin movie. I was sitting in the theater with my husband and I was like ooh Ewan McGregor and Hayley Atwell—what is this?? And then Pooh showed up and said he wasn’t cracked just a little wrinkled and suddenly there were tears everywhere and I was like what the heck

This is a great interview! I’m so glad you’re putting a spotlight on her. She’s great on Crazy-Ex-Girlfriend and I definitely plan to follow her career.

I used my $25 coupon to buy an eyeshadow palette I don’t need and will probably never use but looks so beautiful. Then I signed my husband up for a BI account and used the $15 coupon on the deluxe perfume sampler (which sits perfectly exactly at the $75 threshold) to gift to my mother for Christmas. :)

It’s so weird that we associate size with age in adults given that so many of us haven’t grown an inch since like 16 years old. I’m guilty of it too sometimes, but it makes no logical sense.

Yeah, I’m very certain those are exactly the types of sentiments my dad most appreciates from me.  He likes to know that I appreciate what he does for me.  Which I do!  He does a lot for me!
