My hesitation to choose a githyanki character has far more to do with this:

This shouldn’t have even been a revelation in the first place. Everyone should know the business model; Good, Cheap, and fast, but you can only choose 2. guess which one they chose only it wasn’t cheap.

it really isn’t

“Hello, fellow middle-classers! I myself like having a good, regional beer while bowling in the bowling alley that is also in the basement of my mansion.”

Nothing says “I’m one of you, working class blue-collars!like a private jet and a mansion in Connecticut.

I’m not seeing anything on this list that warrants restarting the game. It’s a lot of improvements but I don’t see any reason to start from scratch.

I don’t like this at all. I love blasting through areas that were hard before. While I am still curious about how 2.0 plays, this killed a lot of my hype.

I’m bummed about armor switching to cyberware and the loss of mod slots... even if it is mostly more realistic. Sure, there’s no practical reason for my halter top, hot pants and boots to have 300 armor each, but hopefully actual body armor still has value.

Only 95% of NFTs are worthless, so there’s still work to be done.

Cowering in fear of your brutal “I told you so”! It’s your time babayyyy!

You don’t need NFTs or blockchain to run a closed market for skins or whatever.

A good and expected result.  Now can we never talk about them again?

They’re the night shift. Several someones on day shift said nope to the call and it was waiting for the night shift when they clocked in. They had coffee, grabbed dinner, sat around chatting for a while and when they were bored enough they answered the call.

“Yes officer. I did call you to arrest my eleven year old child. You do have a firm grasp on the situation. Well done. Go enjoy a crisp beverage. You deserve it.” — the answer they expected

“developers like Aggro Crab would not be on the hook, as the fees are charged to distributors, which in the Game Pass example would be Microsoft.”

Just do it, it will be worth it in the long run.

The smart thing would be for them to say that this policy will only go into effect for projects started after the January 1st, rather than including ones being developed currently. But that would be the smart thing, so they won’t do that. We alredy know they are bad at doing the smart thing because they’re doing this.

It’s unsurprising that all of this is happening 3 years after Unity had an IPO and just 1 year after they took major investment from venture capital and private equity. This is classic short-term profit boosting at the expense of long-term brand value. It’s also predatory rent seeking behavior from a company looking

including that charity games and bundles are excluded from fees

They’re just going to push indies to use Unreal 5 instead, which is already very fair / reasonable for small indies. This change will make UE5 all the more appealing and just result in Unity having committed suicide.
