It’s a little odd but one thing that’s a common trend with these kind of abusers is they’ll act very quickly to cover their tracks. They’ll put on their nice face and make amends and say they’ll get help when they’re caught. And sometimes they do... and sometimes it’s just a ploy to keep their victim from actually…

As I said in another post, it has more to do with no actual crimes or missing people being reported. And this included on social media sites that residents of the area(s) involved posted to. Which put this into the crank call category.

There is yes. But with most game news outlets now only paying a few full-time editors/writers and hiring freelance for petty amounts for the rest of the work. It's not easy to keep a raging river at bay with a malfunded dam.
