“Larger inquest”? “Circumstantial corroboration”? I don’t know what those terms are supposed to mean. In a lawsuit alleging harassment and discrimination, evidence that a senior employee was a toxic shitfire and management knew it would be evidence that said senior employee’s actions were motivated by bias, and that

So like, I’d say he’s not part of the problem anymore

That’s exactly what it means in Southern.

Except that’s a resolution that is so vague and unattainable it’s guaranteed to fail. Concrete and incremental resolutions are better.

It does, we can’t tell from that page exactly who is going to get what, though; it’s typical for awards to be based on things like how long they were employed, what their wages were, and so on. The named plaintiffs are going to get the most because they stuck their necks out.

His name likely popped up in the extensive investigation that the EEOC conducted before they quickly settled.

I don’t agree with that dude

You can look at the actual consent decree at the link below. The EEOC sued them for violations of certain civil rights laws. Riot got sued in a class action alleging many other claims, including under some pretty tough California state laws.

Nah. Cynical theorizing about the EEOC being friendly aside, Riot didn’t want to admit anything was wrong and certainly didn’t want to agree to any oversight.

Riot dragged out this lawsuit for years, while Activision-Blizzard settled very quickly after the EEOC sued them.

Except that it doesn’t go to all Riot employees, it goes to members of the class who were or could have been effected - which is to say a subset of their female employees and contractors.

Is this just another tomato? The ego fits....

I’m starting to see why that dude has never finished his own magnum opus. He missed the part where writing is a paying job, instead of For The Sake Of Art and not tainted with grubby commerce.

This is toxic fandom, just from the other side. “Ungrateful”? GRRM isn’t bestowing gifts on the undeserving masses, he’s writing books to make a living. The people who read those books don’t owe him humble obesiance. Methinks you’re projecting rather a lot about your own feelings as an author here.

His failure to ever finish these books was a plot point in Logan Lucky, for crying out loud.

It’s pretty funny to see all the people who think they’re being righteously outraged, but are really just admitting they don’t know much about domestic abuse and don’t know abuse victims (or at least anyone who will share that they were an abuse victim). This surveillance shit being abused by bad actors wasn’t

You understand that surveillance and tracking devices are not new and were not invented yesterday by Apple?

I bet that’s exactly what was really happening. She was about to call the police and suddenly realized her phone was in her purse, but she couldn’t think of a smart way to back herself out.

That other people are shittier is not much of a defense.

I absolutely recommend watching The Green Knight at home, so you can have loud conversations with your friends about WTF is going on, which would be rude to do in a theater.
