It’s true that the whole ‘complete proteins’ thing should be binned, but the article is not just advocating a plant-based diet but a vegan one. That takes a little more attention to nutrition than a vegetarian diet, or occasional meat-eating.

I commend people who go vegan for ethical reasons, but the ethical reasons presented in this article are cartoonishly strange, and spend absolutely no time explaining how a vegan can make dietary choices that aren’t supporting capitalism, climate change, and corporate evil.

If Gates wanted to pay more taxes, he could do that tomorrow. He has enough money and clout to get lobbyists to change the tax code; hell, he could ask for it to be changed in such a way that it only affected Bill Gates’ personal taxes and no one else’s (kind of the reverse of Ross Perot’s shenanigans). But he doesn’t.
