DC Comics announces that all their comics for now on will be Batman. Except for their Batman comics which are now Double Batman.

I think they’re taking the wrong lesson from it. It’s not change, it is failure to faithfully execute that change. If you do it well, I’ll stay with ya or think about picking you up if the way you were doing it bugged me before.

Dear god is the chemistry between Adams and Caville terrible. I mean, they know each other for less then two days and now they’re a couple? And don’t get me started on the fact that Lois’ presence in the movie after Zod shows up is never explained. Why did Zod need her to come aboard his ship? Never explained. Why did

To be fair, the character he’s playing was invented by Zach Snyder and David Goyer as a friendless child who was raised (apparently) by paranoid schizophrenics and spent most of his adolescence and 20s as a day laborer and hobo, and is also invulnerable, can level a skyscraper by looking at it really hard, and

Exactly! Who’s afraid of Superman? Asshole conspiracy government types, power mad dictactors, Darkseid, Lex, etc... The monsters of the world. The road Snyder has set Superman down has basically created this dark alien overlord that looms over the Earth, enforcing his will. That sounds less like Superman, and more

True. The MCU is out-Supermanning DC every time Steve Rogers makes an offhand remark or glances to his left. And that’s a tragedy.

I'm pretending (hoping?) that this is all a lead up to a super awesome reveal that Cavill is really Ultraman and then a boom tube opens and Adam West & CGI Chris Reeve & Lynda Carter pop out with Michael Keaton, Dean Cain and Brandon Routh, the guys from the Flash show, and animated Kevin Conroy all flanking them.

Well, it should only happen about 5% of the time, and under better creative types. Even then, it should be an Elseworlds or an exploration of the character in a one shot, not the core version of the character you’re trying to get mass groups of people to like and relate to. It’s supposed to be less Watchman and

That’s the thing, if a better director and writer were behind the movies, the direction they’ve gone in could legitimately work, but it’s a rough idea combined with an incompetent director and lazy writer.

Now playing

I don’t have a problem with some people being afraid of him. Government types, villains, etc... but once the common man is terrified of him en masse, then we have fucking problems. And NO ONE SHOULD SEE HIM AS SPACE JESUS. Hack Snyder introduced that aspect of his character in the movie, and it doesn’t belong.

No, it’s that Superman isn’t supposed to be that. It would be like creating a Smurfs cartoon that focused on Smurfette being raped all the time, because that’s how they would totally reproduce, or something. Don’t like the Marvel movies? That’s fine, but at least they understand their characters and try to make the

It’s a movie about Superman. If you want grimdark realism, go watch something else.

The S stands for “hope” - as in “Please god, I hope I don’t get crushed under a falling building knocked over by an uncaring demigod”.

Wonder Woman has been his love interest for a while now. I made this argument before but DC no longer has solid characters in their inventory. Due to all the reboots and re-imaginings what they have now is a concept of a character and a few key points of history and the rest is just a hazy blur of an outline.

That’s how the DCU feels. Like a bad Elseworlds story along the lines of At Earth’s End, or something. Man, why couldn’t they do All Star or fuggin’ Red Son? Red Son is dark, but at least interesting.

I shouldn’t have to keep saying this, but NO ONE SHOULD BE AFRAID OF SUPERMAN BECAUSE HE’S GODDAMN SUPERMAN! If you’ve created a Superman that lots of people are afraid of, THEN YOU’RE DOING IT WRONG!

I was not talking in terms of them being a couple (which seemed gimmicky to me). I was talking in terms of her being at a physical power level that she can look him eye-to-eye.

So... what exactly is wrong with that?

Just goes to show that just because an actor looks the part doesn’t mean he understands anything about the character he is playing or the world surrounding the character. This is just further proof that WB and DC are trying to eliminate Lois Lane as a love interest, who by the way was based off of Jerry Siegel’s wife,

I've been on the receiving end over Afghanistan. Not cool. I was able to point out on a map though exactly where it came from to intel though. I like to think a bunch of army rolled in and went medieval on his ass.
