That was my initial reaction too, so I pointlessly refused to watch the first season. Then I caught the second and was so blown away, I got the first on Netflix DVDs and blitzed my way through it in a week. Man, I was dumb.

Funny, I'd have said Woodard over Ali, although I really loved both of them. I was just so impressed to see a fully-fleshed out villain with understandable motivations for what she does, and the fact that this most interesting of villains is a woman was even more impressive.
