I was just thinking this over the weekend. Most OEM head units after '05 or so have all the functionality needed, as long as it's not the stripped-down base model. You could add a Bluetooth receiver to the /SAT input (if there) for $50-100. I have nav in my car, but using on my phone is much easier.
