Weird, it’s almost like it actually takes them time to put them in.

Just a heads up: If you get shitty or mean in these comments I’ll remove them. Go be an asshole somewhere else.
I love weird Japanese stuff as much as, well, the rest of us perverts, but I’d give it up to be in the timeline where we didn’t burn the planet down to own the libs.
I have officially lost all hope that we will ever get another good series or movie that follows the ideals of the original or even TNG.
It’s just more evidence to me that this show is probably go to be a mess. And it supports the notion that CBS/Paramount don’t really give a shit about making Star Trek good - all they care about is milking as much money from the fans as possible.
I’m an enabler.
Stop feeding my fire! I’m trying to grown up and accepting here!
Dude, it should have been Ejiofor as Strange. He was considered for the part! It would have been perfect and swashbuckling and charming and dark. Cumberbatch would have been a fine haughty Mordo; he plays haughty incredibly well...that’s about it.
And then Kaecilius hits him with “Maybe, who am I to judge?” It’s so good and Mikkelsen’s delivery is masterful. There’s never been more evidence that this movie might actually be as fun and weird as it should be.
The ship is doubly annoying given that the FASA RPG from the 80s introduced a bunch of really good looking ship designs that I would have liked to see onscreen.
Right on. I think if you take a trip back through all his articles, you’ll be happy you did. He’s a helluva great addition to good ol’ io9.
Man, I thought this ‘open letter’ was going to go in a completely different direction, as evidence by how it began.
Glad to be proven wrong. A million stars indeed.
An open letter to Evan Narcisse:
I’m curious where they’re going to take this show, but a part of me hopes is not a Federation/Klingon joint venture. For one, it would heavily alter if not completely negate the monumental occurrence of Worf being the first Klingon to graduate the academy and serve on a Federation ship. For two, is inconsistent with…
I forgot to mention the music but that is a big hint. I missed the cloaking sound. That is an interesting choice when a transporter sound is usually used for that sort of thing. Thanks for pointing that out.
Came here to say exactally this. I think they are heavily hinting at some kind of experimental hybrid Kilngon/Starfleet Alliance like right after the Khitomer accords. The design cues in the ship are very reminiscent of the more flat sweeping lines and Nacelles of the Klingon or Romulan Empires.
The music also has some of the Klingon theme elements to it as well, that combined with the design had me thinking of Klingons as well.
I felt the music kind of reinforces this theory. Seemed very war drum-ish to me.
If we’re going to do completely wild speculation here goes mine. (Note: I don’t necessarily believe this theory; it’s just the one I’m throwing out there.)
He takes the audience through some culprits, like his brother Loki, and someone he calls Purple Guy (it’s Thanos). Thor knows three things about this character: He’s purple, he has a glove, and he doesn’t like standing up.
