The engine is a stroker that doesn’t like to rev. The torque peak of the 2.5L Skyactiv is about 800-1,000 rpm lower than the comparable Honda and Toyota engines. It’s great for commuting but not entirely enjoyable beyond about 4,000rpm.

Because the RS is too expensive and too extreme for a lot of people and the FiST is too small. The FoST is pretty good daily driver compromise between the Fiesta and the RS.
