The A.V. Club
"There [is] drinking involved."

"Fuck Clive Owen. Never let go."

five years later, still not fixed

Ah, good point, wrong word. I guess I just meant that I wouldn't be surprised if the writers thought up Suzanne's attack while writing season 2.

But of course he did

Do abortion doctor murderers really get off easier because of their beliefs?

That's true. I still don't understand how she's in minimum security.

Yeah, there's definitely some retconning going here. Same with Crazy Eyes (sorry, Suzanne) assaulting Piper at the Christmas pageant. I have doubts that both these plot points were planned from the beginning.

"Fuck Christopher. I'll bet he sucks dick." I want a friend that's supportive the way Nicky is.

That's very possible, though it does seem odd that Morello wouldn't also be charged with (possibly) trying to kill Christopher's fiancée.

Oh God, now I want to know what it is.

And this kind of flashback is probably more realistic than the other backstories we've seen. Sophia committed credit card fraud to "save her life," Miss Claudette killed a child molester (okay, I don't even know), and Sister Ingalls was a political protester. Morello is one of the few inmates we've seen that has done

Am I mistaken, or didn't Nicky mention in season 1 that Christopher had indeed visited Morello in prison at one point? Given the status of their "relationship," that seems unlikely.

Anybody else amused by the fact that one of the guard's names is "S. O'Neill"? Not the same spelling, but still.

"What are you going to do? Not feed me?" I gasped very audibly after that line.

Yeah, why doesn't he? Wouldn't it give The A.V. Club more hits?

I've been trying to watch only two episodes every week so I can stay in sync with Myles, but oh jeez, I am failing.

The flashbacks have never been cheery, but yeah, these two were especially depressing. When the series started, I had assumed that Morello's wedding planning and Suzanne's adoptive parents were going to be nothing but running gags.

It's good to finally see Miss Rosa again. I thought they had written her out in the middle of last season. (Not including her perfectly-cast portrayal as Joseph during the Christmas pageant.)

Judging by the title, I kept waiting for Batman, Gandalf, and Vader to battle each other, before becoming sorely disappointed.
