The fan backlash to this announcement is driving me nuts. Chronicle was a terrific directing debut, and even though nobody knows shit about what the Fantastic Four reboot is gonna be like, the Internet seems to be hating on it (and Trank) relentlessly.

Well, yeah, critics did generally like Into Darkness a lot more than the average blogger did. Plus, Rotten Tomatoes scores for decent movies are always inflated because a 6/10 can count as "fresh". (Not necessarily a bad system, but it can give the impression that a movie is better than it really is.)

I'll agree that Metacritic's system for letter grades and "two-and-a-half stars" needs work, but the fact that nearly half the critics on the site give the film 80s or higher definitely says something about the general consensus, even if the general consensus isn't necessarily "great".

So THAT'S what they look like.

Spider-Man spoilers For me, Stone was actually the worst part of The Amazing Spider-Man 2, because knowing what was inevitably going to happen to her made it painful instead of enjoyable to watch her great chemistry with Garfield.
