@00Red: Number 1 could refer to either the Kindle or the regular Nook. I have the latter, and love it. I see no reason to upgrade to this newer model.

@rentahero1: I actually remember reading a post on Gizmodo regarding this subject a while back. Naturally, that memory didn't come back until after I made a total fool of myself.

@thinkthis: Yes, I realize that I'm an idiot now.

@toxic: My thoughts exactly. I mean, fuck, this thing doesn't even have a web browser.

@George Peterson: Color e-ink is also prohibitively expensive, and would have driven up the cost of this little machine to ridiculous heights.

@oreith: Alright, I'll give you that. You win.

@Charl0: The lower-end iPad is still much more "somehow usable" than this thing is (the Nookcolor doesn't even have a web browser), and I honestly don't know what you're trying to say by its being "a frontend to the appstore, that's all the 500 are about."

Okay, I still don't understand; what is the point of that little loop in the corner? Is it so you can tie things to it? So you can twirl it on your finger in those breaks between reading words? So you can attach it to a gold chain and walk around like the world's most desperate attempt to parody Flavor Flav?

@Sean: I have absolutely no idea what your second sentence is trying to say.

@csc3: To make money. Same reason any company makes new products.

@Charl0: [Insert statement about how over 9000 joke doesn't make any sense, and furthermore the lower-end iPad is $500]

@2 replies: I don't know what you mean by "take after Amazon". The regular Nook already has that feature. The Color apparently does not, though, which is unfortunate.

@WayneWirs: Actually, sir, the cake is a tired meme.

@MrRainMan: Canadians, always complaining about Americans always complaining about something.
