@Ozymandias: Very kind of you to give him the benefit of the doubt, but I am more likely to err on the side of inflammation on this one - he likes to rile us up.

@wild_world_girl: To further elaborate - imagine how he would feel if, out of the blue, once every two or three months, Kotaku posted an article pontificating that his movie Beyond the Valley of the Dolls, was not art, but merely 70's breast exploitation at it's worst.

Bash - I appreciate you trying to take the high road, but how about we address this: Ebert goes OUT OF HIS WAY every few months or so to make this statement - nobody asks him but he insists on saying it over and over.

@Xiandel: Unless cooked in a fat, any THC absorbed from ingested weed is minimal. Based on the pic, I doubt it would be felt, even by a 4 year old.

MUST have.

@slithy toves: Me too. And conversely, I take exception to Gamasutra's "update" that "...we do have a record of feature-length articles and charts on women in the game business..."

Kim Swift didn't really "leave to do a startup" - she joined a company that was a startup several years ago. She may be working on a new IP, but that is a very different distinction.

@LucasReis: Hearted back :) And that is one of my favorite things about Kotaku - civility on the internet - a rare thing indeed!

@LucasReis: Everyone has a right to their opinion, I was merely pointing out that when it is unsolicited and you offer it anyway, and do it so harshly to boot, it is unnecessarily unkind and offends some people. I'm sure you don't care if you offend the female Kotakuites, but that's the beauty of free speech - you

@LucasReis: Wow, that's ugly huh? Just out of curiosity, would you say that so bluntly to her face?

@kyosen: You win for snarkiest comment of the day! Kudos :) (and BTW I fully agree)

@Durel: Both of you suck! :) I haven't played either yet!

I once had the opportunity to meet Uematsu-san in LA at a Dear Friends rehearsal - a family member had gotten me into the rehearsal before the concert, and he was sitting with a group of friends in an empty ampitheatre.

@uncutlateralus: It is tough when you are a commercial artist - technically what game developer artists are. Technically, the job title itself "commercial artist" means you are selling out. :)

@pitseleh0: I'm in Puget Sound, WA, basically the world HQ of game development. Specifically, Bellevue.

@Durel: I have a close friend who quit his first career and went to DigiPen at age 34 (that's where I met him), got his entry-level job at age 37. He is now a Senior artist at a first-party company at 39.

@Archaotic: Depends on the company you work for. There are still some great companies that recognize their employees unique skills and passions, and take advantage of them accordingly.
