Agree with the premise, but you have to think that the middle inning guys last night for the Royals were HDH, considering it was win or go home.

I think that there are a lot of what ifs, and Bumgarner (even on short rest) is the best option. That's what my point is.
So, he won't be used for 9 innings, we know that. And he's most certainly good for more than 2. If he is going to be a 3-6 inning pitcher, then why doesn't he just start? Bochy seems to have some (legitimate) concerns about him performing on such short rest. This is only 2 days - not even '08 Sabathia was working on 2…

Yea, Hoop Dreams can't lose in the first round. That decision has the same effect as the time that music guy that got some real estate on Deadspin said that Stillmatic was as good/maybe better than Illmatic or something like that. NULL.
The Michael Johnson of RB posture.
Do you put Hank Williams and the Highwaymen in the same 'country' class as whoever the hell sings country-pop now (Carrie Underwood, I guess?)?
I don't blame Steiner Sports for being a sports memorabilia company in capitalist America. Good on them for finding an absolutely lucrative business. The issue is that they put themselves into this (and every other) moment. Like, they show Jeter afterwards basking in the stadium, and in the background is the head…
Yea, I saw that. I suppose I was the naive one at the time... I commented that I thought it was a smart kid... Just some HS Freshman doing it for himself, but no way that ball isn't sitting on Brandon's desk as we speak.
Always blame it on Steiner Sports. I saw a man in a suit - a nice, decent Jos A. Bank suit - shoveling dirt from the shortstop area into about a half dozen orange Home Depot plastic tubs. Like this suited man was fervently shoveling dirt in his suit.
I think 'Duane' has been found.
lol paleo cant hav beers its dumb
It is a great stat, and proves my point. The 'with' and 'without' stat for 1 player - ESPECIALLY in baseball when there are up to 12 other players that may participate from a single team in a single game - is, I mean, objectively nuts!
That's insanely short-sighted.
Trading Cespedes has netted them a win, in fact. With Boston, Y.C. is 0.7/0.3 (T = 1.0 bRef War). With Oakland, Lester is T=2.0 bRef War.
It's Benji from Howard Stern. Didn't realize it until I saw on Twitter.
Mike Florio is a joke. Prior to Goodell taking the stage, he basically agreed that Roger did a good thing by pushing this off ~1 week so that (in my words) non-sports organizations wouldn't be able to ask difficult questions that he may not be able to answer well. GET YO' HANDS OUT HIS POCKET!
Maybe not the best moment, but the moment that I enjoyed watching the most was when Michael was revealed to be alive and on that ship.
Yuengling's Black and Tan, however... Beer Advocate calls it "Style: Black & Tan," but I think it should be "Style: It is super easy to drink 6 of these quickly."
One of my best days in 2014 was when I canceled my Cablevision subscriptions.
