Exactly - women are supposed to be caregivers, men can be assholes. Haven’t there been studies about how women are perceived as more harsh when showing the same behaviour as men? Even when the “woman” in question was, in fact, a baby boy who was presented to adult evaluators as a baby girl? Can’t find a source, sorry.

I have a theory about the real-girl schtick. It’s charming before you become very successful, because you are showing people that you don’t know what you’re doing, are winging it, relatable and so on. After you become hugely successful though, it’s in bad taste. It’s like the student who says she hasn’t studied at all
