"I don't want to think/read/hear about him" is a weak argument for capital punishment. And not everyone forgets the crime simply because the criminal is dead. Maybe that's your way of dealing with sadness or anger, but it's not very constructive for the society, imo.

Well I asked how it can help. There's a reason why it is up to the state and not the victim or the victim's family to define and carry out legal punishments.

I think sometimes you have to recognise there's a difference between what makes you personally happy and what is constructive for the society. And maybe you should think about why and whether medieval executions make some people happy. Would you be able to carry them out yourself?
