I won’t lie, I’m legitimately offended. You actually got me to say “Go fuck yourself” out loud, over an internet comment of all things. So if you wanted a reaction then congratulations, because you got one.

There’s as much of an environmental incentive to go car-free in cities as there is a dangerous driver element. In fact I’d argue that’s the more pressing factor; the easiest method for deterring stupid driving is greater cost of entry and more expensive penalties.

I outlined my problem pretty clearly.

It’s not relevant to car enthusiasts.

For fucks sake yes. Just stop this shit. Know your audience.

Off-Topic #1: the first words out of her mouth -

Aren’t these just silhouette-vehicle which share a few exterior clues with the Mini, but are bespoke spaceframe racecars.

In case anyone was wondering, no, the race car does not really share much of anything with the street Countryman.

I know plenty of people who have dealt with police brutality. My best friend in highschool got body slammed for trying to run from a cop after being caught selling weed.

The law in Michigan is that you run on the sidewalk when there is one, and against traffic when there isn’t. There was a sidewalk. He asked her politely to use it multiple times, but that was too much for her, and she got arrested over it.

What stupid command? He asked her to use the sidewalk over and over again and she kept refusing. You’re not allowed to just tell cops ‘no’ when you’re breaking the law and they politely ask you to stop.

Not arguing one way or the other because none of the people shouting here have all the information but there is an actual law in the Michigan Vehicle Code that she might have broken if all the conditions are met (was there a sidewalk and was she running against traffic on the shoulder)... Yes, this talk about highways

Holy fucking shit someone is speaking logically. How dare you use correctness and well thought out ideals?! That’s almost like being a sane person!

...

Exactly. That’s how the law works. Just like if you get arrested for selling pills and they charge you with possession, intent to distribute, conspiracy to acquire, etc and you help them get to the person who is supplying you with the pills, and then they lower your sentence in exchange for cooperation.

DUDE. Using the street as a sidewalk is completely illegal. How is asking someone to use the sidewalk like they’re supposed to “do whatever I say when I say it”?

If you’re not coordinated enough to run on the sidewalk, go to the gym or buy a treadmill.

I used to run 7-13 miles a day, mostly on the sidewalk, and I have no idea what you’re talking about. You want an even surface then go to your local high school’s track, run on dirt walking/hiking paths, or use a treadmill. The street is for vehicles.

No, but repeatedly ignoring a cop and telling him “don’t fucking touch me” is.

Why would a car driving on the sidewalk bother pedestrians? It's dangerous and completely unnecessary.
