I can see what you mean - everyone had a very low-key vibe, which was the point I think. Like they were filming their regular everyday conversations on a variety of topics, which is kind of what made it work so well. Real people (even though these were fictional) having conversations like real people would.

The real solution is to organize unions in Bangladesh, India, and China. Because having unions in places with already high standards of living just makes those labor costs even less competitive.
