Cersei’s been a monster since she was a child, they’ve been trying to make her sympathetic in the newest season but I really don’t think it’s working. I’ve seen plenty of good characters turn evil, but it’s constantly done badly, there’s just no reason for the civilian deaths here.

The Dothraki were always big on rape and pillage. And I think rape in war zones has always been pretty common, just look at the Eastern front in WW2.

Sure, but that’s different. Stalin might have murdered anyone he thought might oppose his rise to power, but he didn’t just run through the streets of St Petersburg with a flamethrower and burn everyone he saw.

The problem for me isn’t the violence, it’s the targets. If she incinerated the Lannister army down to the last man and had Drogon eat Cersei, that would be perfectly in character. But when she spends an hour just barbecuing pedestrians for no particular reason it feels like it came out of nowhere.

I don’t get the whole sexism angle. A), we’ve seen multiple male Targaryens who were less than sane, she’s basically in Aerys/Viserys territory, and that’s without all the other male homicidal maniacs in the show. B), I’m pretty sure “going crazy and rampaging around killing people” is if anything a male stereotype,

What percentage of pro-choice women are in long-term relationships with pro-life men? I feel like the efficacy here is inherently limited by that, even if 100% of eligible candidates went along with it.

Or, you know, Trump.

You can’t use the terms square and rectangle interchangeably, but a square is still a rectangle.

That doesn’t imply a hot dog isn’t a sandwich, it just means a hot dog is a particular type of sandwich. A ham and cheese isn’t a ham and cheese if you swap the ham out for eggs or just eat a piece of ham on its own, it doesn’t mean a ham and cheese isn’t a sandwich.

She has nothing to do with Dothraki and Unsullied, who she would starve if she could.

He’s less likely to set people on fire than Daenerys, I guess. He’s inept, but it’s not like she’s any better.

Even if you ignore Robert’s time on the throne, using the old Targaryen line of succession and ignoring Jon since he’s a secret, Gendry is Daenerys’ heir, since Robert’s grandmother was a Targ, and Dany is sterile.

It was perfectly clear she would have “talked” to the officers to get an endless array of excuses

Not only is Jon’s claim to the Iron Throne stronger than hers, thanks to a patriarchal society

Was the detective hitting on Loach’s ex-wife? I wasn’t sure, with the softball line.

I’ll never get how this is even a question. To say a hot dog isn’t a sandwich requires a definition of sandwiches that would disqualify many unambiguous sandwiches. At least she’s consistent, in that she also doesn’t think a Philly Cheesesteak is a sandwich, but that just makes it clear how ridiculous her position is.

One thing I never got about Ugly Delicious- why is it called that? All the food looked pretty good.

Surprised I never heard of the Sandy Hook thing, but trans athletes are always a hard thing to deal with. All of a sudden it’s not a conventional civil rights issue and becomes “what if Quicksilver wanted to be an Olympic sprinter”. You’d have to be a real piece of shit to mock amputees, but that doesn’t mean I’d be

As much as I like a repetitive callback joke in something like U Talkin U2 2 Me, I’ve never liked The Monster Fuck. It just goes on and on, I skip it every time.

I honestly have no idea how I would tell if they’re feuding, given that them not getting along has been a bit on CBB for so long.
