Have to say, the tone of this article seems weirdly condescending and neutral towards the Auschwitz Memorial about what seems to be a quite valid criticism and concern they’ve raised. I’m not normally one to get in an uproar about the fictionalising of history in what is clearly a work of fiction, and I’m not gonna

I think it’s fair to say that they wouldn't be into those.

Way to strike while that iron is stone cold.

M4A - I get why Warren wants a slow roll out, but no matter what it’s going to be slower than whoever wants it. We need to start fighting hard for it as soon as we can, otherwise it’s just going to take longer and longer

The mental gymnastics in these comments of people who preference Warren but will never vote Bernie floor me, in much the same way as those who would vote Bernie but never Warren. It just seems like tribalism at this point, and I’m sad to see it amongst a crowd I usually respect.

This exactly. I love Warren. Was hoping she would run back in 2016. The caving in on health care was bad. The “leak” to CNN about Bernie’s supposed comments just before a debate also hosted by CNN was a sign of a larger character/judgement issues. It was desperate.

That still doesn’t make sense, because the media has been downplaying Sanders throughout the entire primary. They routinely left him out of polling graphics and/or ridiculously omitted him from headlines. Here is one of MANY examples, that you probably weren’t paying attention to, which was the point:

Not sure where you got that rule, but media hype is whatever the media wants it to be.

She has an electoral history of underperforming against other Democrats and now people are surprised she’s underperforming against other Democrats.

The candidate endorsed by the NYT (as milquetoast as that dumb endorsement was) doesn’t get to complain about media erasure.

Warren’s big mistake was all about healthcare.

It’s kind of silly to argue that it’s sexism, when one of the beneficiaries of Warren’s “erasure” is Klobuchar. She’s been called the comeback kid after getting 3rd(!) in New Hampshire, which somehow overshadows Sander’s 1st place finish, at least for the media. So I’m going to think it’s something other than sexism.

I have no idea about Pops’ actual politics, but I think his point - which is something I’ve noticed myself, and agree with - is that there’s a weird vein running through a lot of American woke-discourse that seems to assume that the entire world was always just as much of a melting pot as the 21st century US,

One of the reasons It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia works as a comedy is because their various schemes NEVER work and usually backfire on them, because the gang is a bunch of self-centered pricks. Their undoing is always their own doing

I mean, it’d be different if it was a snuff film of some sort or anything with alleged non-consenting material (Last Tango...), but since the problem is the writing of the scene and how it’s presented, seems pretty reasonable to include it so you can make up your own mind.

I keep confusing The New Pope with The Two Popes.

trying to manufacture controversy where none exists

I’ll believe the apolitical era has ended when she actually says something political. The only thing I recall her standing up for recently is gay rights. Laudable, but also extremely safe in today’s political climate.

If you ignore Hayes’ attempts to create OUTRAGEEEE...your summary pretty much is exactly what he said.
