I don’t think it’s surprising, for the same reason that I’m sure when Japan adapted Spider-Man into a show with giant robots Marvel was fine with their version of Spider-Man being an Asian man.

Starring Ken Watanabe, with the classic “samurai film≈cowboy film” conversion flipped around. 93% on Rotten Tomatoes.

That’s a different complaint entirely. Transplanting the story from continent to continent is finicky, no doubt about it, but that’s completely separate from the complaint about the race of the people in the shifted adaptation. It’s not like casting Asian-Americans for their 2060 California setting would do anything

which is in addition to the firmly established issue of whitewashing traditionally Japanese characters in an American adaptation. Did we learn nothing from Ghost In The Shell?

Isn’t that quote about locker rooms, not bathrooms? Nudity seems inherent to a changing room.

I absolutely despise the idea of Lindsay and Paul getting back together, the fact that so many people see it as sweet mystifies me. If Paul had punched Lindsay everyone would want him sent to prison, Lindsay stabs him and then gaslights him about it and people are willing to forgive her. The domestic abuse, the

Not known for it? Superstition’s arguably his most famous song.

The top is the wrong shape. It should be concave, not convex.

Stevie Wonder’s absolutely got some funk rock in his background.

I don’t see any reason the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame should start adding in non-rock groups. You don’t see the Baseball Hall of Fame saying “ugh, no one cares about baseball, let’s just add Lebron”.

One day Eugene Cordero will end up a regular in a good series that lasts more than one season, but I guess that’s not today.

Sure, but so does The One I Love. I assumed they meant none beyond a certain threshold, no aliens/robots/whatever.

It makes perfect sense. Dumbo is famous, but dated/racist enough that a lot of people haven’t actually seen it, so why not capitalize on that. It didn’t work, but I’d much rather they do something like this than “what if we just did Aladdin again, but slightly longer”.

They could always just film a live performance of it, that’s cheap enough that it’s not hard to recoup the cost.

I disagree with describing that as either a “Bible film” or “good”.

When was the last good Bible film? Last Temptation looked good, but I never saw it.

The complaint in this article wasn’t that the food was bad, just that in a large party it never showed up. I’m sure you can make your own adequate sushi if you have the patience, but to get as good as the pros seems like a hell of a time commitment.

It comes out to about half a bottle a person. That’s pretty reasonable.

Learn to make restaurant-quality sushi?

You expected a restaurant like Alinea, which is known on a global scale to be one of the best, to be overrated? You must be smarter than the experts?
