Looks like he’s also sad he can’t play Kiryu Kazuma.

I just don’t see how Julianne Moore could fit the role without the use of prosthetics. It’s like if when they made Monster they thought it was crazy that Theron wanted to change her look.

The hotel level’s not bad if you play it in a well lit room and remember “oh, I’m a vampire, none of this can really harm me”.

Only fighting to defend yourself isn’t rejecting violence, it’s just not seeking it out.

I wouldn’t say Frodo and Sam rejected violence, they just weren’t especially good at it. They carried and used swords, the whole point of the Fellowship is basically to have violent backup, they just got separated from them.

In the books the Nazgul are depicted as literally just black guys riding horses, and therefor evil.

I don’t think that quite works, with the orcs. You can accuse them of being a lot of things, but when it comes to civilization the villains are definitely the most industrialized faction. And Sauron has some vaguely African-seeming mercenaries, but I’m not sure how much of a statement you can really make from that,

Fried chicken? Doesn’t fried chicken go back quite a while in Japan?

Maybe, but this feels like too many steps to get there.

Fat suits are fine in their place, there’s a limit to how quickly even Christian Bale can adjust his weight. But their place is for something like the Schmidt flashbacks in New Girl, or Peggy’s pregnancy in Mad Men, things where you want contrast between weights. If you’re just going to wear it the whole time, then

Ugh. I’m against this. I know some people love Wizard and Glass, but I don’t want a whole series of this. I want the lunacy of adult Roland’s quest for the tower, not kid Roland going to school and flirting.

Tertiary? That’s a hell of a stretch. Every film revolves around him. I’d say he’s maybe the third most important character, I’d be shocked to find someone didn’t have him in their top five.

It’s ridiculous to write off people’s dislike of inconsistency as a fear of change. If Buzz was only in the movie for a minute, would it be okay if they made him scarlet?

Because the graphics were bad, but they kept a consistent design and the way he looked as a child in the third one would be perfectly fine. It’s like saying “8-bit graphics are really dated now, so in the next Mario game he should be a gangly Frenchman in a tuxedo”.

What’s the reason, then? Sure, Andy looked ugly in the first one, because the tech hasn’t aged well, but why go for a complete redesign? We even saw him as a kid again in 3, just keep using that basic design, maybe fine tune it a little.

You don’t have to be afraid of change to be annoyed that a character looks different for no particular reason.

You can be the straight man without being boring. Look at Ned or Stannis.

I still find him absolutely tedious. Sure, he’s not fun and lively like Tyrion, and no one expects him to be, but he also doesn’t have the sort of gravitas that lets you pull off stoic and grim, like Stannis or Ned. He’s just a boring character who we’re suddenly stuck with.

Plus, there’s a lot to be said for how pretty much everyone has Netflix, unlike HBO.

Yeah, turns out when you make people work extra hours without paying them they tend to be bothered, who knew. It’s almost like people want to be paid for their labor, whoda thunk it.
