No, they are failing on the model 3 for the same reasons sales are down across the board, prices. Tesla wants a mass market car with luxury car margins. The reality is they cannot have their cake and eat it to.

Being (basically) first-to-market with the Model 3 helps a lot, but they’re just starting their uphill battle. Manufacturers are just going to keep crowding the segment. I would definitely NOT buy a Model 3 over a Leaf or Bolt, personally. Why?
