Those force and threat numbers for athletes versus non-athletes show the importance of accountability for wrongdoing. Athletes know they’ll be given a level of protection if they’re accused of sexual assault that non-athletes won’t get.

Considering the amount of deaths fentanyl has caused in the past year, I’m actually shocked someone is addicted to it and still around to talk about it.

There’s a difference between giving someone advice on how to reduce their risk of getting raped, and telling them it’s their fault if they get raped because they deviated from that advice.

It’s good advice. The problem is men rape women when they’re drunk because it’s easier. But if every woman stopped drinking tomorrow, men would still commit rape. But it doesn’t matter if I’m sober, I still can’t necessarily ward off the advances of a rapist. It’s not a woman’s intoxication- although that does make them ideal targets for opportunists- it’s her lack of power, physically and politically.

That's exactly why I can't imagine being famous or a corporate-sponsored athlete. The freedom to speak up for your beliefs is what you give up in exchange, not something I could ever imagine for myself, and not the example I'd ever imagine passing to the little ones in my family.

I understand when a company wants to be apolitical, but where does it end? Is it too political to stand against a bigot?
