I went through menopause early-ish (43, I think), but my menopause was quick and hard. Then poof! No more symptoms — until about two years ago. Bring on the night sweats.

Nope. No invasive work on her face, maybe the minimal skin peel that many women do, and not all these women are not former "super-models". Also see: Christie Brinkley, and the side-by-side photos of Naomi Campbell and her Mother.

Yeah, "Bikini waxes" and /or "Brazilian waxes" do take a toll long-term. Add childbirth into the mix, and well...

On Benedict Cumberbatch getting married: My niece will rend her her clothes, and maybe her hair.

Years ago, I had boyfriend who offered this sage advice: "Men lie, Women say things they don't mean."

I gave up on Chrome completely years ago, both on my Mac and also my PC for work. especially with multiple browser tabs open, chews and swallows memory like one of those competition eating contests.

I'd add Lizz Wright to this list. I just adore her:

[It's] sung by a woman who is not only outside the cultural beauty standard, but equal parts masculine and feminine. I can't name another artist who does that. Not to mention her serious, serious talent.

SAE were jackasses even when I was in college in Atlanta back in the '80s. I'm not saying that any rapes occurred at the SAE House on Fraternity Row, just that their Frat House wasn't as friendly as the other Houses on the Row.

Ain't no thing.

Back in the '60s and 70s, we had family friend who specialized in importing very high-end, super expensive cars. This was back in the day when all cars in California required catalytic converters and other modifications.

Some children need sunglasses due to the bright sunlight in some locales. Growing up in LA, I was wearing Ray-Bans at age three. I still wear prescription sunglasses with the darkest tint available.

Okay, I have three brothers: two siblings from my birth parents and one adopted due my older brothers participation in the Boys and Girls Club of America.

I was in middle school when Mrs. King was killed. That week the "gifted" classes (summer school) had a combined Social Studies / History class to learn more about Dr. King's legacy and other prominent activists in the Civil Rights movement. It was especially interesting because I was the only Black kid in my classes.

Because Carvel was rarely, if ever found on the West Coast when I was kid in the late 60's -70s. Baskin-Robbins was founded in Southern California, so the shops were everywhere.

I love, love being an Auntie. My brother has already agreed that it will be my job to take my niece "college shopping". I am so very excited!

I love all of these things. As you stated, it's all in the preparation. For instance, I will politely refuse to eat just anyone's chitlins. My Mom /Aunties / Grandma always taught me: "Do NOT eat chitlins, if you can smell them in the house."

All hail Natasjja Kinski's "wrapped in a snake" photograph by Richard Avedon from 1981.

Glenn Close, Salma Hayek, Cate Blanchett, etc. I agree Angelina Jolie was never known for her fashion sense.

Or trends. Trend chasing is the kiss of death.
