Work it, friend. I’m finally there. I just dropped $100 on my first wave of plants AND tipped a great bartender 100 percent today because she was awesome. I’m not rich but I’m comfortable. Baby steps.

I want to be rich for two reasons. So I can buy any plant I want for my garden and so I can leave ridiculous tips. That’s it. That’s all I really aspire to in life.

I completely get Amy on this. I worked in the service industry and I’ve also been suuuuper poor. I’m rich now, not like Amy rich, but I can pay all my bills, go out to eat, and still put money in savings every month rich (so solidly middle class). I’m a generous tipper. I’ve been known to leave a $50 tip on a $30

Hah! When my sister and I were talking about this kerfuffle last night, she opined that Philly was probably the only other baseball city where she’d imagine players might regularly get racial abuse. Tough crowd.

Now playing

Speaking of sub-6' scoring prodigies, Calvin Murphy would embarrass you (to the tune of 18 ppg over 1000 games, most without the 3-point line) and then win a baton twirling contest.

Isaiah Thomas Will Beat You And Then Embarrass You

In my anecdotal experience (so take it with a grain of salt), Bostonians are pretty much the most provincial big-city people in the country. I mean, people from New York, people from San Francisco (where I was born and raised) - they have an attitude about where they’re from and a sense that they’re better for being

Bill Russell brought the Celtics eleven fucking NBA titles. He still had to deal with racism every day. Not just on the road, but in Boston. If Larry Bird won 11 titles, Boston would have been renamed Larry Bird’s Very Own Fucking City. And everyone would just have to deal with how long that takes to write out by hand.

Oh, yeah. I wasn’t being serious. Trying to do a mock Boston fan thing. Shoulda used all caps and TAWKED LIKE THIS.

Wait wait wait, you expect Bostonian’s to take their own players words for things now? HOW ABSURD!!!

Is a fan in San Francisco throwing a banana at the man proof enough for you? How about Red Sox players confirming to management what Jones said he heard? A little research goes a long way.....who’s the “attention whore” again?

Oh, I know. “The problem of Chicago is their liberal politics, derp.” Which lets me know they have no clue about Chicago politics. First, they equate “Democrat” with “liberal.” And a Chicago Democrat is anything but guaranteed liberal. I mean, Old Man Daley? C’mon. Even Rahm ain’t that liberal.

I think it’s just the racism? (maybe coupled with its self-image as progressive)?

I think we’ve got the chicken/egg, though. Do Bostonians freak out to deny local racism because they’re always singled out for it, or are the always singled out for it because they freak out to deny it?

The key difference between Chicago and Boston is that Chicago people can accept that some people in Chicago are racist. Boston people deny it like its the plague which of course makes more people believe they are racist.

CC & David Price both confirmed this, so how difficult is it to understand that this is real...also this

This Simmons tweet looks an awful lot like Breer’s show me all the evidence plea.

Which is greater: Bostonians level of racism or their mass inferiority complex?

is Simmons a racism truther? I genuinely can’t tell

Plenty of idiots on reddit are being truthers about it, apparently forgetting that this isn’t Jonesy’s first run-in with racists, and isn’t anybody’s first encounter with racists at Fenway or in Boston sports.
