I was gonna go, "just use your phone?". Then I realised you probably have an iPhone, and those don't, if I'm correctly informed, have microSD card slots…

I watched the video. I feel very, very unwell now.

fuck everything relating to Brexit

Brain. Not. Working.

Still on An Instance of the Fingerpost by Iain Pears, still enjoying it mightily. It's a really fascinating portrait of English society in the 17th century.

I'm a bit over half-way through, and it's definitely morphing into something quite different from what I thought it would be at the start. If it stays this good, it's definitely going to be a favourite.

I don't know why this should be, but it honestly doesn't seem to me that there is any such thing as a "reputable" online ad hoster. That wasn't the sort of decision I was involved in at my old work, but I'm pretty sure they would have picked someone better had they had the option.

keep trying to pass the responsibility off to others

I've always been intrigued by option 3, frankly—an ad-free subscription version of the site with bonuses for loyal readers—but that is not on the table for me at the moment.

Would upvote this twice, if I could.

Still on An Instance of the Fingerpost by Iain Pears, which I'm enjoying enormously, despite or perhaps even because of the fact that one of the point-of-view characters turned out to be a weapons-grade tosser (in fact, I suspect that by the end, they will all look like weapons-grade tossers).

The first few Discworld novels are not that great, but they get much, much better as they go on.

I read Mitchell mostly for his writing style, and occasionally want to hurl his books across the room when his inner sixteen-year-old fantasy writer comes through (which it does at one point in Thousand Autumns). Guess we're polar opposite Mitchell readers, or something.

Still really enjoying season 3 of Justified. As @Depressive Pixie Dream Girl mentioned last week, the thing with Neal McDonough from Detroit is a little flat so far, but the array of Harlan baddies is more than making up for it.

I haven't seen the latest ep of Preacher yet either, but I feel like it sort of fell apart after the first two episodes. It's still got all the great parts (Tulip, the vampire guy, the Fargo-esque duo with the coffee tin, and Dominic Cooper being great in the lead), but they're not coming together very well. Not that

Good luck with the move!

That makes sense. I've certainly enjoyed the Boyd/Dickie Bennet plotline more in the first few eps than whatever's going on with Neal McDonough and his little sleeve gun. Anyway, as long as it's got Raylan and Art in it, I'll probably like it just fine.

So sorry to hear this. Hang in there! (And perhaps take sick leave at work, if you can. Let the boss figure out the hard way that s/he can't just ignore a gap in the roster.)

You're not the only one. Ugh.

Well, it seems minor, until you realise that you'll have to remortgage your house to pay for the colour ink cartridge you don't actually need.
