Halloween
Halloween
Sounds like these guys read too much Splinter.
Who would have thought that a Halloween-themed movie titled Halloween would do well during the Halloween season?
According to Box Office Mojo, it’s also the highest opening weekend of a non-numerated sequel film in an even-numbered year with a post-equinox debut during a waning gibbous pre-daylight savings finalization weekend. Not that they're keeping track though.
This is wonderfully woke and all, but there are literally no studio execs sitting around saying, “This sequel to one of the most iconic horror films of all time made money even though it’s set forty years later and featured the original star?! I want to see every old lady script on my desk by 5 pm!”
He was using “lynching” as a metaphor not literally. I now that’s it’s all very confusing but stick with it you’ll catch on some day.
I know!!! I keep writing this. They did it once for OITNB and then changed it to putting all the reviews out at once. Its so shit! And no one comments and reads comments etc. I hate it
Big surprise that people didn’t want to participate in a series that argues for the innocence of someone who fucking raped and murdered their friend/family member. I try to give the people behind this series the benefit of the doubt but they’re so fucking callous and arrogant
If you haven’t already watch the full tape of Brendan Dassey’s confession. It leaves a very different impression than the part they showed in Making a Murderer.
He walks through much of the details of what happened with no coercion from the detectives. The part the doc makers showed was bad, for sure, but that isn’t…
I feel like “Gosh, they sure look like they’re having a lot of fun in there.” is the best reaction Carpool Karaoke can get. I’ve never understood its appeal (or Corden’s, for that matter)
Because he did it.
It’s a little annoying to frame Fournette as the bad guy for not wanting to run on a bad hamstring, though.
It’s not even that it would be super quick, going from 5 sets to 3 just changes the dynamics and flow of the match enough that you would change the entire tournament. Final-set breakers are literally always exciting.
“The solution....is that men should be playing best of three sets at Grand Slams”
“Hasn’t the controversy surrounding this movie been raging for a small eternity?”
Progress? Those marathon 5th sets are the best thing in tennis.
But why?
Louis Anderson. Murphy Brown. Roseanne. Designing Women.
The fact that this author responded so blithely to the floating man makes me lose about all faith in these reviews. Sure, it’s okay to view this partially through the lens of family trauma etc -- the show is set up for that interpretation quite clearly -- but give credit where credit is due: it’s a horror show, and as…
“There’s a certain impudence in taking the name of a Shirley Jackson work—one of her impressive oeuvre of women disbelieved, disregarded, and condescended to— only to gut it, and then put the lamentation that “no one ever believes me” in the mouth of a boy, and a man, over and over.”
....really? If it helps things,…
