In fact, the fact Abigail was real was one of the gut punches of the finale.

But this eighth episode (of ten) is has an important place in the uneven but engaging series, where even weaker episodes contribute to the larger story.

I don’t even know how you people are seeing that stuff lol

I think he was saying that both were scattered

As the pieces come together, even the logy first few episodes have more purpose, more coherence. (I stand by my early assessments; a series is designed to watch in order, and the individual episodes need to be engrossing in their own right, not only in light of what comes later.)

you could see some of the actors struggling, particularly the guy playing Steven, who was overplaying everything

it’s a rich white guy thing

I liked it fine enough. I think it would’ve been better with someone other than Seth Meyers who could sell it more and have more fun with it.

Paul Simon was horrendously bad. That Bridge Over Troubled Water version was embarrassing.

now officially vying with Kate McKinnon for the most compelling presence on the show—

I think the pace has picked up since we got Theo’s backstory. Those first two episodes were painful, but it’s slowly given more and more. It wasn’t as evident this episode because it was 20 minutes longer, but I’m confident it’ll be a nice looking pace in the rest of the 50-minute episodes.

They should just do one per day. They did that for a show which I can’t remember now, and it worked out perfectly. They put up the episode review each day at like 10 am for a week and a half. It was perfect. People who binged it in a night were fine. People who did it over a few days were also fine. Some people

I’ve never read the book or seen the movie (I’m guessing I’m more the norm there), so the constant complaining is pretty exhausting.

With so many scenes set on darkened city streets, this episode had every chance to drive home the notion laid out so prominently in the second episode: When the lights flash twice, it’s time to come home. Failing to seize this opportunity, Hill House squanders a ready-made chance to bolster the whole series with a

I just finished episode 3. I have no knowledge of the book or past adaptations. I wasn’t into the first two episodes, but I really liked the third one. I don’t think the reviews, however, have been very objective. They are getting tantrum-like, and we got seven more to go.

yeah, given that fandom, perhaps she wasn’t the best person to objectively review this. Three episodes in and her reviews are just a smattering of disappointment that this strays from what she expected from past works. The reviews are exhausting. I feel like I’m being nagged.

this was the best episode so far... Theo is the first interesting character and story they’ve developed.

Well, Hereditary was trash and boring, so perhaps it’s not a 180
