I saw some people online asking why Maya Rudolph just doesn’t have her own sketch show at this point, to which I’d respond with an enthusiastic head-nod, apart from the fact that she’s too freaking busy being awesome in too many places already. (Plus, she already sort-of did, and it didn’t get picked up, because

Okay, but on the other hand, MGM may have made a calculation that nowadays there are going to be fewer blockbusters than in the recent, pre-COVID past. So maybe No Time to Die could command more than it would otherwise, because people are desperate for a big-budget movie, even if they have to watch it at home.

That was my take on it too, Captain Splendid.  But I imagine both sides of that potential deal had their own accountants with their projections, and $600 million wasn’t too far off the line for either of them.

Kinja is a mess.  I get that Disqus has its problems, but with the exception of how Kinja limits edits to 15 minutes after posting, I can’t think of any way that Kinja is an improvement on it.

And Caroline Siede, for my part I hope that you always remain a slightly boring daredevil laying thematic groundwork.

I remember my mom checking out her record from the library in Ames, Iowa and listening to that song on our crappy record player. She loved that song.  I wondered what the hell “embryo” meant.

“What I love about these impressions is the timeliness.”

She’s super broken inside!

5. Does anyone else (and I wasn’t a reader of the comics, so I don’t know) that Stormfront/Liberty is, in fact, Dr. Vought, the Nazi? It would explain the racism and his likely ability to have changed his identity to femail and made him ageless.

Someone’s going to post this link, and it might as well be me:

Oh, man. Now you’ve done it. You’ve brought up my single favorite TV show name of all time: Shasta McNasty. It’s just fun to say: Shasta McNasty, Shasta McNasty, Shasta McNasty. Say it loud, and there’s music playing; say it soft, and it’s almost like praying. Shasta McNasty.
