The Art of the Steal
The Art of the Steal
I know it shouldn’t be, but this is my favorite part of this story:
You know, for someone who claims to be new to politics, Trump sure has had a lot of political dealings over the years.
I wish I could say any of this matters. But it doesn’t. It’s all one big fucking ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ to the country this election.
People say zee here in Aus :-)
Ok, so my avatar (obvs) and screen name (more subtly) out me as a Heathers superfan, but isn’t Scream Queens already the new murderous mean girl anthology? And I watched the shit outta that.
Well said. This is a contextual ad and the context is being widely misunderstood. This ad is HILARIOUS because the Strine talking, VB swilling bogan One Nation or Aussie Patriot supporter is right into their Aussie lamb and will have to, to quote Darryl Kerrigan, ‘suffer in his jocks.’
Having to discuss mental health issues in a professional context is one of the more humiliating things to do in the American workplace. I had to do it today and even though the outcome was extremely favorable for me, I still want to curl up in a ball and hide forever. I can’t imagine having to deal with it on this…
Yeah, I’m a vegetarian and I’m still in favour of this ad because, as Cory fucking Bernardi tries to cripple our racial vilification laws, it’s taking a punt that Aussies still support social inclusion. Yeah, it’s cheesy and probably cynical but given the awful climate right now I can't hate it.
Yes- also Australian and I think you nailed it.
boooooooooooooo. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Oh come on, we know Tom likes to be Lo-key.
MOM I KNOW IT’S YOU STAY OFF MY KINJA MOM
Mom, stop sending Jill Stein yard signs to my house, please.
So, I’m Australian and our current climate right now isn’t the most loving and accepting (I guess that’s the whole world). It would be very easy for them to keep doing the exact same ads as they usually do which mainly just focus on telling people that eating lamb is what makes you a true Australian, but this ad, I…
ps just because i disgree with it doesn’t mean i don’t understand it
Hahaha, fair. Also George Carlin. But it’s a different kind of anger, it’s not “anger first, then comedy” it’s “comedy first then anger”. I guess I’m not describing it well.... but watch a few clips of The Flipside, and you’ll be able to see the difference.
There’s nothing funny about wanting things to remain as they are. Even jokes about airline food were about wanting something better.
