No. The most underappreciated Obama is Sunny. It’s all about Barack and his dad-jeans, or Michelle and her scandalous sleeveless dresses. It’s about Sasha and Malia crossing their arms and not smiling (awful) at official functions. It’s about Bo, barreling into reporters and dignitaries. But nary a word about Sunny.

I’m trying to drum up a plan were millions of us travel to the White House on January 20th, and we all throw ourselves around Obama’s legs and cry and beg him not to leave. I think this would work, and might be constitutionally sound.

Did you see the cupcake picture? Like, I’m pretty sure Biden baked the cupcakes and that’s why they look......dense, lol. So cute.

Malia and Sasha at the dinner. There is hope left in this world. Two, beautiful young black women with a future ahead of them.

There is a photo of him and Michelle dancing with a 106 year old African American woman. I’m bawling.

Pete Souza is a great photographer and a damned decent guy. “Afterwards, I tracked down his name — Clark Reynolds — and had the President sign a copy for him” He didn’t have to do that, but did it anyway to give a kid the most amazing gift

My favorite part of the Obama legacy is going to be everyone forgetting that Republicans did absolutely nothing for the American people during the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression and say it “could have been better”

He did more than any president since LBJ in strengthening and adding to the social safety net. Unfortunately, it’s all about to be unraveled.

Michelle Obama has been one of the classiest, the most educated (two ivy league degrees), perhaps the smartest, and yes one of the most beautiful first ladies we have ever had. We will be lucky to get another one like her. People who hate on her are ignorant racists. She is so many things that all of us strive to

She’s treated a lot like how Serena Williams is treated. Williams has been called a man by so many people and so has Michelle. I’m wondering if it is because both women are black, strong and athletic. That racist can’t stand their mix of strength and power so they deny their womanhood.

The constant flood of Michelle Obama comments over the last 8 years really do flummox me.

If she is trying to say that little girls grow up thinking men will protect them, and then they realize that is false, I could understand that.

“Men don’t protect women anymore.”

In all the pieces I’ve read since the election, none has hit the wounded spot in my heart like this. God. THIS. This is what I’ve been feeling the last two months and couldn’t quite say.

I don’t usually repeat replies, but this is amazing, and much needed after biting my tongue far too much over the holidays to prevent the vitriol from ruining what may be our last holiday before the world ends...

This is so well written in part because you embrace the complication of being a woman — sometimes loving those people who oppress you without even trying, really — all the while being furious.

Wonderfully written and so true.

Great piece. Thank you.
