My sister used to tell me I was adopted. The rest of the fam found it hilarious that I would get upset and cry over this.

Prison book charities love used paperbacks (we can’t send hardcovers to most prisons). Maybe check to see if there’s one in your area.
Thank you for pointing out how antiquated and pejorative it is to call a conflict between two female Congresswomen a “cat fight.” This is what bothers me most of all!
It’s a bit strange to say this, but the real life Monterey not having a thriving therapist scene actually makes a little sense even if their version of the town is wildly unrealistic.
Especially for a couples therapist.
Worth noting, Celeste and Madeline are best friends, and that often means that recommendations are shared. Look at Celeste’s lawyer reco’s from Renata. The plot hinges on the interconnectedness of these people’s lives.
I would say Ennis del Mar was Ledger’s best role. (But I get your point.)
Death Becomes her is a classic of delectable dark comedy. Pay no attention to its negative critics at the time: the picture is more entertaining and better than a lot of Zemeckis’ films, including Forrest Gump.
I don’t really feel like her novel was that though.... she’s framing her husband for her own murder, no stranger comes out of the bushes or anything like that. I guess you can make the argument that Amy (the main character) used the fact that most women are murdered by someone they know to her advantage, knowing her…
He was the best actor to play Nick. I also feel like he did a good job in the sense that part of me, a very small part, felt bad for him. I felt a little bad for Nick in the book too.
And now it’s this whole THING with Jean.
I’m 58. Last year I subscribed to Mad. Best decision I made. They broil the administration every single issue.
Fun fact, she became his real life girlfriend after that. So i guess the line worked
I thought it was okay, but I remember thinking, “how are ALL of these women being underused right now?” There were some great lines (especially in the wine tasting scenes- those were my favorite) but it did feel like several of the sub-plots were shoe-horned in. Especially the very predictible plot point for The Weird…
I was thinking something more along the lines of Goofus and Gallant (“Goofus separates families and detains children--even people who are legally seeking asylum! Gallant treats immigrants with respect and dignity because he isn’t an abomination.”)
“Similarly, Faustin says her training sessions can sometimes turn into therapy sessions”
I know it doesn’t fit the thesis of this article, which focuses on the ensemble comedy, but I think The Heat is pretty underrated. Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy have great chemistry, and it’s just a nice, fun action comedy. I would personally like to see more women-led buddy movies.
‘Blah, blah, blah. If you’re trying to silence me through the Hatch Act, it’s not going to work. Let me know when the jail sentence starts.’
No this is what would happen to Amy Adams character. She was a newscaster. Oh yeah Amy Adams character was sex trafficked eeep. Not really funny, so let's pretend it's this instead. Go Muskys!
Interview they did with every passenger on the bus they could find which I thought was really good.
