My friend and I, when we were old teenagers and very stoned and tired during the day after wandering aimlessly downtown, decided to go see this movie. We were like meh, whatever, obviously a stupid movie, but we want to sit and rest in the dark and not look obviously stoned to the public. Then we watched the movie and

1. We have an 80 year old mystery novelist here? That is very cool.

I’m an 80 year mystery novelist and I love it. I make it a point to watch Shakespeare adaptations, no matter how far from the source material it is.

YES. But the best parts are the subtle humor, like the offhand comments, the facial expressions, the random things that happen. It’s very silly but so great.

This is truly the most shining example of American cinema.

My high school class watched a version of Twelf Night, then this, and then wrote a critical review about the adaptation. It was GLORIOUS.

I have never seen this film. Should I have seen this film?

Kate, this seems to be a reoccurring issue for you. Buy a thing.

I still watch that movie. A true classic.

I don’t know why you’re saying untrue things like a LIAR. But I don’t care for this kind of talk. Not one bit.

“Why do you always talk about girls in such graphic terms?”

I remember seeing previews for this movie and wondering, “Who the hell would watch this?”

I didn’t know anything about this movie when it came out but went to see it with my best friend after we had a soccer tournament earlier in the day. Little did we know, it revolved around soccer and a badass girl. IT WAS FATE. The rest is history.

one of the best movies ever made

I am 25 years old and this is STILL MY FAVORITE MOVIE OF ALL TIME. I don’t know the lines to any other movie besides this one. I can probably recite the whole thing. It is fucking HILARIOUS and we can’t be friends if you disagree.

Yes. It is a true cinematic treasure.

Own it on DVD; no longer have a thing on which to watch DVDs.
