It isn’t bullshit people can say it is a pure entertainment industry but due to the nature of it really it is also a service industry. It is an interactive medium made to make money. One that has to deal with the fans on a far more direct basis then others in the same market.

As long as someone is using a cheat just for the single player experience I’ve never really cared and it is amazing how many companies cared then and now. I get the stopping multiplayer cheating though hands down as it effects others.

But that is the issue. When you apply a name to a game that is well known it can and will have to live up to a standard. Not only that but you are placing it within the established universe in some way of that name. The fans have every right to expect a name to have certain items from that name.
