"And that was the last rose. Sorry, Decent Taste in Media and Self-Respect, you're out of this competition. Everyone else, let's hit the jacuzzi!"
Also, impulsing this idea of what we know call "fake news", she's casually mentioning Marilyn was killed with no actual historical backup in order to plant the doubt in Shadow's mind. How many people railed themselves these past elections for unfounded articles about random spatter?
I thought the motel's name was Starbrite? Ah shit, I need to rewatch the episode.
And I'm totally sure Lucille Ball never said any of the things Media expressed to Shadow on the market!
And basically he had already been casually outed by both Czernobog and Sweeney, one calling him Wotan in passingby and the other referring to him as Grimnir, both meaning Odin in different, let's say, situations.
No, the coin powers her to be superpowered. That, and the impulse to be with and help Shadow.
The morgue door cannonballing at full speed looked like something spat out of a Doritos ad. I cannot hate Laura for inflicting hilarious death knells on random people (who got off on horses, according to the Google search he was doing).
I loved that when they're about to leave, Media does this step, as if she was up a ladder (Anderson surely was) to stop floating, instead of just levelling herself down. Pretty damn awesome and kinda meta.
I was going to post that spoiler thing in an individual post, but I'll comment here: I'm sure Jonathan Tucker got himself a couple Glover movies and got himself to work the mannerisms and gestures up to a perfect mimic, because they're really similar. I had already noticed the similarities on the first episode, but…
The smirk on Laura when Sweeney was being dragged out of the room made the line funnier. Yes, the dead wife is an asshole and you fell for it.
I didn't like his direction for the rest of the episode (ok, yes, maybe when the tree was rampaging around) but the opening sequence was breathtaking and I have to give him and the fx team massive kudos, it's probably my favourite sequence of the season so far.
I'm really sad that the didn't show TB's teeth dissolving into a puddle of pixels or something similar after landing in front of poor surprised Shadow. The little shit's look of shock at the blow also made me cackle wildly.
Parties doesn't seem to be as weird as Tales and maybe that's where it will fail to make an impression with time. I got the book for free (I don't remember why, some contest?) back when it was released and it wasn't very compelling.
I had my doubts after the recasting, but Schreiber is killing it as Sweeney. But I'll keep wishing Harris would have stuck to the part, the guy has this fierce intensity that would have made the character 10x crazier.
Oh damn, you watched Annihilation already?! Sweet! Not gonna ask questions to avoid spoilers, but if it's a little bit like his previous film, I'm gonna start gambling on Garland (his before-Machina screenplays never jived with me)!

Aw, c'mon! A Ghost remake with the cast from Ghosted is an idea I've been pitching for these last few weeks! Wait to see Craig Robinson help Adam Scott with his clay sculpture!
Cletus and Brandine are starting to need some help in the bedroom.
Thing is, apart from having the tiniest shred of emotional connection with Riddick, Replacement Jack could have been any other character that wasn't Jack. Twohy brought back a beloved character from the first, stripped off its basic traits, replaced the actress, and not even the name remained intact.
Couldn't it have…
