And I still want one (or an early Landcruiser)

The big problem I see is that so many of the engine characteristics conflict with one another: increasing AdBlue injections lowers that service range, changing the overall engine power changes NOx or CO2, etc. I don’t think they can even find a fully legal fix without seriously impacting one of those properties…
So is it safe to say you’d prefer driving this as compared to the G63 you had that amazing review about earlier?
I’d offer something slightly less and drive it forever. It needs a slight lift to change the proportions but would be a fantastic car to just drive until it won’t drive any more.
Linking back to an Oppo story, there’s BatteryTenderUnnecessary’s lengthy battle for his e30 M3.
Is this the most dramatic Neon death on camera?
These LMP1 cars have something beautiful about the way balanced form comes as a result of proper function. Respect, Toyota.
Did you ever run it without the restrictor to really open it up?
I wonder if we’ll ever see a manual transmission on a hybrid or electric vehicle? It seems they’d be at odds with each other but it’s an interesting thought.
I’m going to say 6, because it’s 1 more than my car has now. It means that I drive on the highway at 120-130 km/h (80 mph) and the engine is running at 3500 RPM. A taller 6th gear would be nice to drop it down to below 3000 and shorten the other gears up.
TRIGGERED
Presented without much comment (although if you want to find out more, I wrote about it in Oppo when it happened).
I’d rock this by taking “slow car fast” to the extreme and screech wheels everywhere I go. Weird gauges, but I’d offer $5k flat and hoon to no end.
Neutral: VW should make cars that are the best to drive in the segment, while having a premium feel. The MQB Golf family is the perfect example. Forget about trying to sell $14,000 Jettas and Passats that are missing AC and radios, make a car that is fun to drive and remains priced in the middle of their class.
Would it be possible to better balance the car without just adding weight to the back?
Soon available at the Ferrari gift shop
Does this, along with the success of the GT4, mean that Porsche will go back to offering manuals in all upcoming vehicles? (Looking at you, GT3)
Make America Gold Again
No question (my first Golf caught fire) so hopefully they get their QC together, but there’s lots of room for great vehicles.
Dieselgate is a brutal situation to be in, considering how many opportunities there were to correct it, but I’m excited to see what VW comes up with as the dust settles. They’re capable of building some amazing stuff, and I hope it becomes available just as I’m in the market for a new fast VW hatch.
