I can’t wait until I have the space and money to buy and sell lots of interesting cars and drive them for a few months. I’d try to have a different beater every winter: buy something for $1k in the fall and try to sell for the same amount in the spring

What’s the best sounding V6 turbo you can buy today?

I have a short commute, but I live about 400 km from the rest of my immediate family, so regular trips adds up quickly. I do about 27000 km / year on average, with July and August up to about 4000 periodically. It’s not that hard, but I’m sure if you dropped my main trips, I’d be way, way down.

Man. An Atom on Hoosiers would rock.

I’d find out the largest possible garage I’d be allowed to have connected to my house, then put the best cars in there and save the others for the Leno garage.

Looks pretty great but does it weigh less than a midsized house like the RCF?

I dig it. Even if it makes it to production in some form, there’s no way those beefy tires are included. Hopefully the light bars would be, though!

Great choice, but how does depreciation and insurance factor in with all of these miles? Presumably a 9 year old car with an unusual number of miles will be an interesting sell at the end of the year.

Near Ottawa? Saw an EL there with high mileage on autotrader as I was considering “what if” scenarios

I liked Das Auto :( but their previous slogan of Drivers Wanted was cool too.

Are there any benefits to this kind of design at all or was it strictly a cost saving measure?

I have seen a car suffer. It died in front of me. It died so that I could get a newer one with sunroof and heated seats.

I’d be quite happy if this is included as part of the 2017 GTI.

The general idea, as far as I interpret it, is to drive normal with a variety of speeds, engine loads and engine speeds, with the occasional “Italian tuneup” to get the rings to seal properly. I think the main point is to not keep the engine at the same speed and load constantly for the first few miles (like long

I heard another story where Chris Harris bought an S4 Avant and after a few weeks noticed that the diff was messed up, and then when he watched some of his older videos, realized he bought the same car that he recorded himself drifting the hell out of.

Would a 650S be able to get up to 88 mph in that parking lot?

Thanks for the info about everything, Doug. My favourite is the cop asking why you’re on that side of the car, as if there’s a steering wheel on both sides and you just chose to sit on the right side for that specific drive.

I think the best thing to come out of all of this is that the EPA will likely smarten up and produce tests that accurately depict normal use and can’t be easily optimized.

Great story, Dusty, and hope you have better stories about Bancroft from other years! (like this weekend)

Did this recently for a company outing and while I was the fastest at the end of the race, I definitely have room to improve because of my unsmooth moves, at least in terms of racing line. I want to try it again and not skid around every corner.
