The writing has been on the wall for this change for a decade. Auto manufacturers purposefully drug their feet on the transition, spending tens of millions on kickbacks and political corruption, to try to delay it so they could juice some extra short term profit. They aren’t going to transition without a mandate, and

Benefits of not driving to work:
1) Less gas
2) Less time wasted in traffic
3) Less stress
4) Less wear and tear on my car
5) Crappy coffee at the office (I make my own which is infinitely better)
6) Less laundry (we only 2 loads a week as opposed to minimum of 4 previously when my wife and I were both going to the office)

And the gas from that driving.

By the way, for those who don’t know:

It really should. It has been a issue for years. The farming truck situation is about as bad as BMW selling a subscription for heating seats that are already installed on the car or Apple bricking your phone for swaping a part. What is worse, is that farmers either have to get a John Deer technician to come (which is

This really should be more well known. This is the industry that puts food on our tables. And, right now, a company is gatekeeping the farmers from being as efficient as possible, simply because they want more money.

We’re giving it all the due respect we give pandemics!

It likely refers to singing in the “whistle” register of the voice—that REALLY high register (i.e. think Mariah Carey) that can go a full octave or more above a typical operatic soprano. Not everyone has a whistle register, though. It’s not rare, but it’s uncommon.

I’m a trained singer (soprano, classically trained)

i just wrote 5500 words on unprofessional behavior in an overstressed industry and your comment was basically ‘these artists should get fucked’ so excuuuuuse me for not giving you the time of day when ur clearly only interested in being an anonymous jerk in a comment section.

Uhg!  That sucks.  Sorry you went through that.

gotta tell you, i turned in my copy the day that article went live. this is a month-long piece that was not influenced at all by magary’s (very excellent and very impressive) article. i’m disappointed you (or anyone) would try to make this a journalist vs journalist narrative rather than commenting on issue we’re

bonkers how you can dismiss thousands of people’s work, livelihoods, and struggles just because “everyone has problems.” if you took the time to read the article maybe you would have a bit more empathy, but it’s clear that you’re only interested in being a neg online. take it somewhere else, and leave the comment

One job fed me caffeine pills so I could finish a job in a week because the director pissed off the client. So I was required to work a 144 hours work week. When I billed them,  they said they ‘couldn’t’ pay it, and fired me.

bootlicker alert

video game studios ARE unionizing at a faster rate than vfx studios, mostly because they typically don’t hire outside studios to do their cgi work.

I don’t hear people rip into Brother as much as brands like HP and Lexmark. So, maybe they’re still decent?

I’m basically hoping Thwaites collapses at this point. We aren’t gonna do anything significant until probably 2-3 feet of sea level rise happens in under a couple decades.

  • Hey. Sell me your car.

Elon Musk is a turd.  Could be saving the world but instead is launching cars and penis rockets into space.  Fuck this dude.
