One of the very difficult things to understand about PvP in Sea of Thieves is that it’s not always an act of toxicity, and aggression doesn’t always equal toxic - but it absolutely can.  A boarding ship has no idea what loot you have until they’re standing on your deck. Being a jerk once you’re on the boat though?…

Listening to guys yelling “nigger” and “fag” every 5 minutes was not what I called fun.

This is why I gave up all online multiplayer games.  

That was in part what Alliance Servers were for. They were a chance to just play the game without having to worry about PvP stuff (while also getting a lot of gold because, surprisingly, it’s easier to make gold when everyone works together instead of fighting at every chance. Imagine that.)

But when you dare to utter the words “solo server” on a discussion platform for the game (reddit, forum, etc), everyone downvotes you and goes “iT iSnT cAlLeD sEa Of FrIeNdS hUrR dUrR”. All I want to do is to sail the seas by myself, do Tall Tales, and engage in PvE.

I understand the hesitancy around PvP.

It’s like a microcosm of MAGAtards. 

I’ll never understand these Twitch lemmings who are so willing to do all this shit because their favorite streamer - who couldn’t give less of as shit about them - gets into a spat with other streamers.

I have never had a good experience with this game that wasn’t immediately tempered by someone being an asshole.  I gave it up, but I’m not built for a PvP-based game.  I could not stand losing hours worth of work to someone who had obviously been playing longer than me because ‘pirate game’.
