My current Intel Air is a hand-me-down from my heroic breadwinner of a brother, and I’ve been waiting for the M1 launch so I can pester him to let me trade this sucker in (that had to be RMA’d after a 1008F error) for the new one.
Getting close on average to a freakin’ 16-core 5950X, the current x86 king. It’s pretty impressive for an explicitly low-power setup.
I’d probably hold until we see full ARM vs x86 benches *just* so we can hold Apple to the fire and see if their claims track true. Otherwise, I reckon the Air with full GPU cores is enough.
