I guess us plebs will have to stick to getting blocked by Jonathan Cheban
You’re further stigmatizing a disease and placing an unhealthy mental burden on people who know their status while completely shifting culpability from the partner. It is equally each partner’s responsibility to ask about sti health prior to having sex.
Have you ever had a cold sore or dated someone who at any point in their life had a cold sore? If so you are a carrier of type 1 herpes, which in addition to cold sores can cause genital outbreaks identical type 2 herpes (outbreaks of genital type 1 are on the rise in recent years, google it). If you haven’t ever had…
Where is the responsibility for the standee though? They’re engaging in a one night stand. All sex is a risk. Should they be responsible enough to ask ahead of time? Should they explicitly say “Do you have herpes?”
Should someone with cold sores disclose before oral sex? B/c they could give HSV1 to a person’s genitals.
Yup. 90% of humans have some form of herpes. If you don’t have herpes, you are actually in the minorty. For most people, they get zero sysmptons from it. For a great many others it involves getting a rash or some red bumps...which, ya know, we’re human, we get rashes and red bumps from a ton of things.
Herpes is as common as HPV and doctors don’t screen for it unless there are symptoms. It’s safe to assume that if you’ve had sex with more than one person you’ve been exposed to it. Not all STIs deserve the same protocol.
Even for a random hookup? A one night stand? At what point should the partner be willing to accept the risk? B/c full disclosure is not realistic for every hookup.
Oh damn, i loved the original Alias
you know both... can be true, right?
Shes negotiating that paper!
Yes!!!!!!!!!
Perhaps he’d prefer the term “wypipo.”
We’re all so proud of your ability to overcome. Your struggle is truly inspiring.
I know we are not the first group of people to take a hurtful and negative word and make it our own, and through that ownership find solidarity and strength. But I would caution you to remember the origins of that word, the original meaning and intent behind it, and to have some empathy and sensitivity towards those…
First of all, lol at your many attempts to make sure the Sanders people don’t flame you. Good luck with that.
I like Tana French
I’m a history nerd so it’s a lot of Phillipa Gregory and Allison Weir. But I also really like Diane Setterfield, but she needs to write more books!
Good question!
