My dad recently came to visit me in New York. He’s not in the best shape so we took lots of cabs. Literally every single time we got in a cab my dad would chuckle softly to himself, lean forward getting right up to the cab driver’s ear and say, “Is this the [long pause] cash cab?!?” [Laughs way too loudly]. The cab

Yup, this is exactly right. Otherwise every Lit and English class would be an exercise in trying to figure out what the authored intended the text to mean. Granted, this is certainly a useful exercise at times but doesn’t come close to touching the scope of literary analysis.

There have been shorter NBA players than that and if I was gonna bet on somebody, Messi would be as good a choice as any. But, as I just replied to somebody else, you’re focusing too much on the Messi/Lebron example specifically.

Sure. I think you’re focusing too much on the Lebron/Messi example. The point isn’t really that Lebron would be a great soccer player but that soccer is the number one sport kids play in basically every other country except ours. So the odds are much greater that a superstar soccer player will emerge in those other

Of course one can’t argue that. Just like one can’t argue objectively that Messi would be a good point guard in basketball. Who knows? But I’d love to see it.

Oh sure, and there’s always a fun argument in there. It’s hard to say LeBron would be better at something other than basketball but what if he played football his entire life, or soccer, or whatever else. I think some people are just born to play.

I think what he’s saying is that LeBron chose not to play soccer which is precisely the point. In this argument, both Messi and Lebron are equals in terms of athletic ability. But if Messi were born in the U.S. he very well would have tried playing baseball or some other sport.

Yup, absolutely depends on your height. I’m a shorty at 5’8 so it’s not so bad (I have a full). But, more importantly, if you live in NYC, then those extra few inches can make a huge difference in your room overall.

Counterpoint: Nah, Queen is better, but full is usually fine.

Two household names does not make a good field, well, for the average spectator anyway.

Fair enough. And I certainly agree that the first 2/3 were more thoughtful, and thought-provoking, than the last 1/3.

Yeah, I guess it depends on how you like your movies. I don’t personally like the idea of your PTSD scenario at all but revealing Nathan to be AI certainly could have been interesting. That said, I don’t think it was necessary. Yes, most of us saw the ending coming, but is that necessarily a bad thing? I know that in

Starring since I just asked this question but didn’t see you down on the greys. FWIW, I also enjoyed the ending. Sure, it was obvious, but better than the two of them running off into the sunset.

What ending would you have preferred? Not trolling, genuinely curious...

Yes you can! I’ll be betting on Auburn. Cause, come on...

If Budweiser didn’t exist then Bud Light would not exist. If Bud Light didn’t exist then Bud Light Lime would not exist. If Bud Light Lime did not exist then we would be deprived of the sheer pleasure of watching John Oliver make fun of it.

Emilia Clarke lacking charisma? You don’t say...

You know, I don’t actually remember why Bruiser died. Head injury, i’d imagine.

Germie? She was awesome. Best dog I ever had.

True story time: When I was a kid I had this cat named Bruiser. We named him that because when he was a kitten and trying to get some milk from his mother he would literally ram the other cats out of the way with his head. I grew up with this cat from about the time I was 2 until he died when I was 9. This was the
